The last time I felt we were in this together was 9/11... even crime just about disappeared around here and I never had seen so many American Flags in my life... by the way I am starting to see a few here and there again.

My worst fear is pre 2020 will be looked at as the good old days when anyone could buy a ticket and fly to a far off destination or cruise around the world in luxury... when social gatherings were the norm and stadiums with tens of thousands would gather.

My best is this is something that brings us closer together and working together for the common good we become better...

Just seeing what can be done when everyone is pulling together is a breath of fresh air...

I do believe the importance of taking care of yourself, your family and neighbors cannot be understated... not needing help frees up resources for those that do.

I have been in checking by phone or by a wave on my senior and very senior 100+ year old neighbors... they are glad for the conversation and all have said they have what they need... the 100 year old asked if she could give me toilet paper!

They live in their single family homes and say how good they have it... friends calling in to see how they are and being able to live in the homes they love...

It is inspirational... especially hearing it from Vivian who survived the Spanish Flu in 1918...

So you feel this has the ability to never go away and essentially create a new isolationist need to sustain life?

An Ex-pat friend who retired to Spain with her husband and two teenagers at the age of 42 is, as of last night, still going out and meeting with friends as if little to nothing is going on. That might help explain Spain's meteoric rush along with US young thinking their immortal still partying like it is 1999 (we remember if they don't LOL).

They're lucky that they didn't get caught.

Also in a Spain, a girl decided that was a good time to go jogging during a severe quarantine. Well, she got arrested and had to pay a fine of around 600€ or $650.

Well now... that go's without saying.

Here's the thing ... and listen up and pay close attention - because I don't want you or anyone else dying :D:

It's a retrovirus ... and they have high rates of mutation ... meaning they can change quite readily and become different, possibly more far lethal than it currently is.

This virus has relatively recently made the jump to MAN - it was zoonotic (animal ---> man) ... and apparently has now mutated in fairly short order to where it is had is now directly transmissible human to human in a really big way.

IOW: it's a NEW THING ... and we have no built-up/built-in herd immunity (which might account for some of the reinfection that has been reported)

We don't know which way it will go ... and that's why we need to be about the business of stomping it out asap ... because we don't want it lingering around and changing into something even worse.

At least that's how I understand it.

It's nothing to panic or get hysterical over ... but it ain't something to just blow off either.

It needs to wiped out ... insofar as that is possible.

Yup ...

That's where the "It's like a cold or the flu ..." can get individuals - along with many likely unsuspecting others - into a whole world of trouble ...

Yeah, no ... it really ain't like a cold or the flu ...

I was too long composing my reply ... :D

But if the word you left out above was "believe" ... yeah, I do ...

And I was hurrying to post before you deleted the second... hence the missing “believe.”

I do have a question; I see this a lot. Why don’t people just use the “delete” function for double posts? I’ve even seen MossRoad write “double post” rather than just getting rid of it.
