It’s completely different. A bigger tractor burns more fuel per hour but does more work per hour which was the point of using it to start with. My JD 310 would burn 2 gph but I would only burn a gallon or so to dig 100 tons of dirt. How much would your little JD burn to move the same amount? Driving a big suv vs a small car the work done was only hauling you.

I completely get the point, the lightest vehicle I own is a 2500 and the rest have 6 wheels, but for the sole purpose of driving yourself from point a to point b a pickup or v8 suv isn’t very economical for doing that.

I 100% agree with you.

No need for those huge engines just burning all the fuel they can get for nothing more than a trip to work or to go shopping...

People need to be more conscious about fuel usage because this ain't going to last forever.

Yeah, I've seen people with Volvos pull big boat trailers. Could do not higher than 3rd (in 4 MT at the time) with it, but only while pulling the boat trailer.
