I remember seeing that and thinking he needed a longer ladder!

This was the last job done with my climbing saw, back in 2013. It's been in storage since.

7 years is quite long rest for chainsaw. Not sure I'd dare to cut a tree from a ladder, so whats the reason for the 12' stump, power line, house, hoot owl sanctuary..............

Yes, close to house, so I cut it up in pieces from the top down. That particular tree forked three ways, so it was a lot of cutting to get it down to what you see in the picture.

Well I see you had a good hinge on there so guess you know what your doing. Someday when your in your 90s walking with a cane you'll look at that picture and yup back in the day I could do this, then you'll start wondering about that climbing saw that hasn't been ruining in 40 years and go out and try to start it, just wont dare to go up a ladder, but then you wont have to the tree is long gone......

I have one oak tree 25' from my house, it's around 18"-ish on stump and getting to the point of now or never on cutting it down. Of coarse it has a slight lead towards the house and entrance cable so it will depend on how brave I get, funny if it was out in the woods it would be easy peasy. One thing for sure I wont use a ladder if I do cut it.
