Car trailer

I have a 2015 equipment trailer in Mass. It's 20' long, bumper pull, wood deck, no dovetail, fold down ramps.
It tows good. 15" tires with 6 lug rims.
Its rated at almost 10k. About 9990 lbs, iirc. I only tow my kubota L3800 on it.
I went 20' because of a bush hog. But I leave that at my property and have never had to trailer it.
I am thinking of downsizing / trading it in on a 16' car trailer. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on car trailers.

Here you go... Aluminumtrailer.com Mine's a 20ft, wanted the extra for attachments.

My thought is this...you have a 20' that is presumably paid for.. and you want to downsize ...take a hit on your 20' to get a smaller 16' ...because... you don't tow with your tractor and brush hog at the same time.... I would just keep the 20' and enjoy the ability to tow larger if needed.... Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

You're thinking too much, lol. I typically like to have a little more space and capacity than what I think I'm going to need. Sure enough something always comes up that I'm glad I had it. I say keep it too and spend the money on another attachment or something instead.

If you're 2500HD is a gasser then the 10k rated trailer is probably about the max for your GCWR. That's why I bought a 10k equipment trailer and dump trailer when I had my GMC 2500HD. I don't need that capacity on the equipment trailer for my tractor and attachments but I planned for the max load for my truck and I have used it frequently towing other vehicles. I have since traded it for a newer Duramax but still use the same trailers. No need to upgrade them just yet, but I would never downgrade with either one.

Also, most car trailers have low dovetail on the rear for easier loading and unloading and are low slung. That may be a problem with dragging if you actually take it off road to load and unload the tractor.

Agree and say add a winch and call it a car trailer if it makes you feel better.
