You're thinking too much, lol. I typically like to have a little more space and capacity than what I think I'm going to need. Sure enough something always comes up that I'm glad I had it. I say keep it too and spend the money on another attachment or something instead.

If you're 2500HD is a gasser then the 10k rated trailer is probably about the max for your GCWR. That's why I bought a 10k equipment trailer and dump trailer when I had my GMC 2500HD. I don't need that capacity on the equipment trailer for my tractor and attachments but I planned for the max load for my truck and I have used it frequently towing other vehicles. I have since traded it for a newer Duramax but still use the same trailers. No need to upgrade them just yet, but I would never downgrade with either one.

Also, most car trailers have low dovetail on the rear for easier loading and unloading and are low slung. That may be a problem with dragging if you actually take it off road to load and unload the tractor.

Duramax. Simplest answer is always right. Trailer tows fine. It might make my life easier if I could minimize the appearance to my wife. It wouldn't really matter, she would not be able to move truck with any kind of trailer attached.

Just buy her something maybe shoes, jewelry, etc that should minimize it......;)

No, she actually isn't a fan of seeing trailer behind truck.

Just stand on your hind feet and tell her how its gonna be.

Then when you wake up let us know how it worked out.

I think your reading something into a simple trailer thread. I am considering upgrading my equipment to make my experience better.

If so, this is where he got it: "It might make my life easier if I could minimize the appearance to my wife.".

Good luck on your search for a nice trailer! A lot of options out there.

Yes, But I can afford to make changes to make my life better.
Anyone with that response in public wouldn't be able to
and anyone with that response on the internet probably lives in their mother's basement.

I did get a lot of the dealer information that I was looking for from serious poster's though.

Rather rare to hear of a trailer owner wanting to go to a smaller trailer. Generally, that goes the other way! I have owned a few over the years. The only times I have ever wanted a shorter trailer is when I find myself in close quarters and have trouble making turns. My current big trailer is a bumper pull car hauler with a 16’ deck and 2’ dovetail. 2 things I will change if I ever change trailers 1) longer deck (longer trailer) and 2) heavier duty axles/wheels/hubs.
Notice I would go longer even with the complaint of having occasional issues with tight turning.
Bottom line keep the 10k, 20 footer. Find highest price you can for a shorter trailer and explain to wife, why spend $xxxx dollars when this trailer is free and clear!

Dave, when you figure out how much you want for your trailer, send me a private message. I've been keeping my eyes out for a good used equipment trailer. I'm in CT, so probably not too far away.

I would love a 10k trailer for the occasional times I need to move my Kubota. But how do you justify tying up that kind of money into something you are only going to use once a year? 7200 lb trailers pop up more often used so that might be an option. Another option might be to check around with some of the trailer sales places. I found one that will rent one if they have a used on in stock. I figure even if it costs me $200 for a day it's still much cheaper than owning one when you add in the fact that the tires don't last forever.
