I shut down the wood stove for the season. 5 months of getting up at night to add wood... done for now. :cloud9::cloud9:

Guess hardwood makes the difference, I never get up til get up time. Firewood is my only major heat source unless an electric heater box is considered a heat source, I wont be done burning wood til June, I've had frost in May at times and I cant give any valuable information on TBN if my fingers get frosted.......

I don't get up in the middle of the night anymore either, and besides wood all that I have is a little electric oil filled radiator that goes on when temps drop below 50.

We used to figure that you could get frost up until Memorial Day. May was always the busiest month, and I remember many night when my father would get up in the middle of the night to go check on things, or because the heat alarm for one of the greenhouses went off. We had long cold frames, at night we would have to put the sash on before going home, in morning and over the course of the day we would move them to let heat out, or take it completely off. On really cold nights we unrolled heavy wool blankets to help keep the heat in. When we cleaned out the barn it seemed like a waste but all of those blankets went right into the dumpster.

Another box of firewood got moved to the drying area,

Full of oak, these things are heavy,

and, then I started cutting more firewood, on an old trailer, that's waiting for a new floor,

This firewood is pretty dry, so I could burn it this spring, if needed...

Yup Memorial Day is usually the safe planting time, amazing in 4-5 weeks the strawberry are ready. I also heard that trees only grow grow in May and June.

I lost count does this make 4 cord? And the wood really isn't heavy unless your rear wheels start coming up if thats possible on you tractor. So whats the floor plan for the trailer, replace all broads or just the ones that are wore out and if weights a issues how thin do want them?

Not quite true, but close. They don't even leaf out fully until mid-end of May, put on most of their growth in June-August and start shutting down by Labor Day. My peach tree from Fedco didn't figure that out last year... I knew when the snow was falling on the leaves that it wasn't going to make it. I was right... :(
