I can’t answer the question because I have only owned one tractor, but from my research before buying I think you would need to factor a cost component into your question.

I own a JD and have owned a Kubota. I’ve never owned the others but did look a couple of Kioti’s over and they looked nice. My opinion is yes they are better. The question is are they worth the extra cost? I can’t answer that one.

One big factor is the dealer network. In my area Kubota, Case and John Deere are the local dealers and the Case dealer only sells big stuff.

I went from Green to Orange about 12 years ago in an "up size" move, mostly a value thing and having been around Kubota's for 40 years (weather they were mine or not) and drew from my confidence and some complaints of each. It certainly does seem that with all the "leaders" in various tractor classes, that initial price is reflected at sale or trade time. I know that was not your question but that along with parts & service will ultimately become a factor in your ownership experience.

Looking at buying a tractor. I have a few acres that I need to move a bunch of dirt around and then going to make some pasture area, and garden areas I have about 1000' of gravel dirt driveway. Winter time will be moving snow.

Branson 2400H 21k dealer 10min away.

Kubota B2601H 20k. Dealer 30min away.

Kioti CK2510H 19.5k Dealer 45min away.

TYM T264H 20k. Dealer 1hr away.

LS XJ2025H 18.5k. Dealer 1hr away same dealer as the TYM.

Thanks!

These "which brand" threads are seldom helpful.

Once you determine optimum tractor weight, horsepower, tires, wheel ballast, factor in dealer proximity, if that is important to you, and consider price/financing, the brand and model should suggest itself.

I've owned a Deere and two Kubotas, operated several other Deeres.

The only guy who could objectively answer the question is one who bought all of them at the same time. He’s not available.

EXACTLY the same here also I went from Green to Orange about 12 years ago in an "up size" move I bought a JD770 (yanmar made ) after looking there was only a few brands around here for compact tractors , The JD was a great tractor just sold it about 2.5 years ago. Went to buy a new bigger tractor and the dealer around here is terrible for JD so ended getting a Kubota and another now I will just stay with Kubota My two dealers are great .Good luck.....

Here is something objective concerning compact tractors: Kubota has about 50% market share of compact tractors in the USA. Deere has about 20% market share of compact tractors in the USA. Twenty-five (+/-) other tractor brands scramble for the residual 30% market share for compact tractors in the USA.

I speculate imports, including Deere, comprise 99% of compact tractor units.

Repeat customers are the heart of every successful business.

This kind of threads can always be controversial and prone to arguments without getting any real conclusions.

I wouldn't necessarily put one brand over the other. Quality wise, I would say the Koreans will easily par up with the Japanese and are all up around the same level, even though some people can find that hard to believe.

The main difference is the extra you pay in the big two brands. Most of that you're paying the brand and the rest you are paying a lot for extras that are standard in the Korean brands. Korean brands also have a margin to have lower prices since they don't spend as much in advertisements as the others.
