Anyone gotta safety pin?

It does happen once in a while the tread separates off of the cord, not very often fortunately.
Now it's time for a pair of new shoes and some fender work, costly.

I had an ex-wife that did that exact same thing once...right after marriage! (LOL)

Tire made in India, on a tractor made in India?

No clue, I just found it on the internet and hadn't seen it before. I thought I'd share. That being said, that style of top link with the sliding crossbar in it makes me think it is a CaseIH tractor. Only thing I've ever seen those on.

What actually happened? Guess it just got air through the inner part into the outer rubber?

Ralph

That would be my guess. I would imagine that it started with a plugged tire, instead of repairing with a patch.

Rented an tandem equipment trailer last year from Sunbelt Rentals.
Looked fine in the beginning.
After driving (with an 8,000 lb. forklift aboard) 250 miles, one tire had a grapefruit size sidewall bubble.
It made a very loud pop when parked.

When I was looking over my father's last new Kubota (2008 L2800) I noticed a grapefruit sized bulge in it. He took it back and they put a new tire on; it was another R1, but from a different manufacturer.
Call me picky but I would have asked for 2 new tires of the same brand; it doesn't affect the performance but if I buy a brand new tractor I want the tires to match.

Appears to be bonding problem. Tire casing is built up, then tread rubber placed around and the carcass and placed in mold to cure at temp. Good bonding goop coated between tread and carcass. This one had a manufacturing screw up. Similar to the truck tire treads you see along the highway except those often fail due to overheat destroying the bond or high speed on overloaded tires - or just plain overuse.
