Funny. I NEVER use bleach for anything, but realize I have a jug from Y2K. Good to know!

Correct, the bodies immune system throws everything but the kitchen sink at the damage in the lungs all at one, called a cytokine storm, and the immune system does more damage to the lungs than the virus does leading to death.

I was watching a MedCram and it mentioned a number of studies dealing with changes in the Innate immune functions, the correlation to increased levels of innate immune components i.e. macrophages etc. and decreased effects of the corona virus. The take away i got from it was looks like this corona v2 is suppressing innate immune response and the more it was able to suppress it, the worse the out come for the patient. The other thing mentioned was the effect of increased body temp like if you got a fever, the body produce more of the components of the innate immune system. Another was inducing increased body core temp, then cooling also had an added additional benefit, which lead to Finnish sauna and looking at different countries with similar, like Japan and numbers of severe cases to number of know cases. It seemed to me, that there was at least as much likely hood, if not more then what i read in those in vitro studies of Zithromax and Hydroxychloroquine. As a "youngster" i remember being around some crazy Finns in Michigan, and got introduced to Finnish sauna. Hotter the heck then into the ice water. It left a last impression on me.

Supposedly the "EXPERTS" saw this coming. Not a question of IF but when.

On the other side of the coin, the same could be said for Earthquakes, Super Volcanos, Solar Flares and asteroids impacting the earth. I guess we should stop spending money on useless BLING and start prepping.

Let's hope Yellow Stone does not blow for a while and take out a few states. We got Yellow Stone checked off back in 2011.

This should be mandatory for anyone serving the public in any capacity...(at least the temperature part)

Walmart to deploy temperature checks, masks and gloves to all employees nationwide - CBS News

The temperature checks won't really work for a viral disease that is infectious for a few days before a patient even has symptoms. Besides, those temperature guns are horribly inaccurate. It's just for show. Gloves and masks can be useful.

It would make more sense to just minimally staff the stores and do restocking at night when the store can be closed. That would keep the employees more isolated. The check out people can be isolated by putting up plexiglass shields. Our local grocery store chain has done that. Doesn't really complicate transactions at all in this cashless era.

That's still a lot of people interacting amoung co-workers, then going home and interacting with family who might themselves have been out working or shopping.

I go to the grocery store and think about not even wanting to breath the air in there.

Yes, my son is a LEO and trying to stay safe and not bringing anything home to his family.

Many in his shoes. His state reported to the pd who in town has been tested positive. 5 in his town.

Prepping is not as expensive as most think. IMHO, people who do not prep are fools who deserve the consequences of their choices.

Preppers are not the idiots rushing to Costco to get shopping carts full of TP. We are not descending on gun stores. We are prepared

Preppers are not the nuts and flakes you see on TV.

If everyone had a 2 month supply of stuff, there would be far less panic. So yes, people need to stop buying bling and be responsible. I know poor people with months of food put away. I know people making $80k with a week of food.

Yes... just received thermometers and no too read the same... disappointing.

The idea was quick temp reads...

We use to use IVacs under the tongue but got rid of them because took too long.

Is there no way to calibrate them with a mercury thermometer etc.??
