Have 2 options I'm looking at for my tractor---------

1.Recommended for Tractors 18 to 35HP. Digging Force - 2450 lbs - Dipper-stick Cylinder Digging Force - 1250 lbs - Hydraulic Volume Requirements - 4 to 5 GPM. Hydraulic Pressure Requirements - 2250 psi. Maximum Digging Depth - 7'0". Maximum Digging Force 5280 Lbs.

2.Recommended for Tractors 25 to 45HP. Digging Force - 2840 lbs.- Dipper-stick Cylinder Digging Force - 2005 lbs. Hydraulic Volume Requirements - 5 to 6 GPM. Hydraulic Pressure Requirements - 2250 psi. Maximum Digging Depth - 7'7". Maximum Digging Force: 5,707 Lbs.

I like the idea of a bigger more powerful hoe but the question is how will my tractor handle it.

Read some threads and you'll find that 3pt backhoes have a reputation for destroying tractors, some beyond repair.

4 point subframe mount or none.

Buy or rent a TLB Or mini-ex.

I dont understand the logic of specking an attachment with 5,000+ lbs force for a machine that weights only 1,800 lbs. the weakest link in your chain is your tractor.

What tractor do you have? I agree with all of the above. 3PT will likely lead to other issues with your machine. Subframe or nothing.

DO NOT buy a 3pt. backhoe for ANY TRACTOR !!
Even if you plan on digging in a pile of dry feathers!

I would rather have one of those backhoes you can tow behind a truck than one on a small tractor.

Bought a bhm 5 for my old b7100 . Works great. Dug up for my sewer through hard packed ground and many other things. If you properly know how to use it you won't have a problem. I've used it to its limit and then some. JPEG_20200401_143707_5121889366939057468.jpg

Ok guys----didn't think I'd get that much interest so I didn't post much info. Let me correct that now by attaching some pics. Know about the undermount---did that a long time ago...and a bunch of other stuff-----see pics. Have an opportunity to get one the backhoes listed above but not sure if it can handle the bigger one and was looking for some one with the experience to answer that question. Maybe I can use the stronger hoe if I changed to a bigger pump??----and if I did that would I have to change hoses?? Would there be other issues I'm not thinking about?? Ideas like that would be helpful. Should mention I may be selling my old hoe in the pics.

I also recommend NOT buying one. I bought a used but nearly brand new JD 1025R TLB. These little tractors simply do not have the weight or power to be real useful. That backhoe was so expensive i always kept it in my garage and every time i saw it i cursed myself for buying it. It was more frustrating than anything. You have to get it placed perfectly and then get off, turn your seat around and dig with small bites.. then get off, turn your seat, lift up support arms, move tractor, and do the same thing again.... It is absolutely NOT worth what they cost on any tractor.

Seriously.... I rent a mini hoe occasionally for clearing land. In 8 hours on a 35hp mini hoe, i can knock over 150 plus trees. You can move easily and quickly maneuver and they have 20 times the hydraulic power. I rent the one from our local rental place for $230 a day. I could never recommend a tractor backhoe to anyone. I致e actually owned them and would never, want one again.
