Yes and I could use a 1 ton 4x4 beater just for around the house, I'd turn it into a woods truck dirt truck so wouldn't have worry OH NO I put a dent in the door.
It doesn't split along the annular rings so semi-circle pieces fall out ???
Got some firewood split - almost a cord but not quite in a couple days. Goal is to do a little every day and be done by end of April or so.
All dried up out back in the sun.

I have two small loads of logs to go to the yard tomorrow morning while the road is still stiff from tonight's frost. I loaded the one this afternoon ready to go first thing. And the second is on the little landing which is starting to thaw and get soft.

With that firewood stacked on the ground, don't you lose some due to rot? I've always stacked mine up off the ground.
It only stays there thru July then goes in the wood shed as semi-dry. Doesn't have time to turn from green to rot really. It is in a good dry spot and I lay all the loose bark on the ground under it. Just throw it there in a stack off the back off the splitter as I go. Split a bucket full of blocks and move the splitter ahead a little. More work than the tote method maybe but it works for me. If I could get a tote right next to the stove that would be different.
