That is a nice load of wood ! I see that truck body lifted up a little when you got it emptied.

gg

Yes it sure did, I didn't check the chart but I figure white oak & hickory weigh about what red oak does when wet. I have seen that a full tote of "green" red oak & cherry weighs about 1650. So all that considered, I'm guessing there was 1600-1800 lbs in the truck that first load. I drove "uphill" the entire way home.

Thanks, but you lost me on the rear window line.

I'm guessing but I think he means if you haul enough logs in your truck eventually the back window gets broken.......

Well, I picked up the two cherry logs from a pile today, see how you can choose one log, hold it and then pick through a pile to get the "next log you want", out of the pile,

That's another thing that pallet forks/grapple with do, that a dedicated grapple doesn't. Anyway, I managed to load the front log on the BSM, mill it and then get started on the second log,

Second log turned out some decent grade lumber, and I DID "grade saw" them,

The neighbor came over in his wheel barrow truck, and left with a decent tally of cherry lumber, 105.6 bd. ft. in all...

and he was happy to get it done...

Nice looking lumber Rob.

Thanks... Not bad considering my neighbor dug those two logs out of a guys firewood pile.

Looks like he's going to thin out some soft maple from around his sugar shack, and have me mill those too, into construction lumber... We will see if it happens...

Bingo we have a winner, over the years I've heard the funny story's of how a unprotected rear windows on a pickup was there one minute then gone in a second, firewood was usually the catalyst.

That's why the wood doesn't get tossed into the truck, but "placed" into the bed.
