36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 51° today.

Guy who took the old playset sent a pic yesterday after he got it mostly re-assembled in his yard. Said his kids love it already. He's going to stain and re-seal it. Nice to see old things get a new life like that.

One of the worst aspects of the shutdown for us is all the Chinese restaurants being closed. Wife has already said that's the first order of business when everything re-opens. :licking:

Nice-looking bench, Buppies.

Good morning to all! Low of 19, going up to only 45. Should be sunny, but dense heavy fog has to burn off. It is getting brighter now.

Buppies, nice bench.

RIP, that is a lot of water from the creek... how long does it take to drain off?

Roy, hope your back continues to give you less pain.

Ron, we are hoping to attract the native birds to the pond, we are (will be) placing a feeder about 12 ft away. We used to have a fountain at the old house and we used to watch them stretch out to get a drink from the spout. I do not think any ducks will visit....

Drew, look at the clean-up as a game... did you ever play “ pick up sticks “ as a kid? I hope you do not have too much damage.

Spent the day inside yesterday, did a material take-off for the front and rear porches for the cottage. I never got a chance to put them on while building, thought they would be done before winter, but never got to them. Probably a good thing, changed the design now to a simple roof instead of peaked.

I got very lucky a few weeks ago while at Lowes. I was looking at the colonial turned porch posts when a dept manager approached the area. She said she was going to mark down the post. When I saw the prices, I could not believe it....$5 ea.... yes $5... I took the last 4 that were there. Normal price was $95 each. I went and found her again just to ask if there were any other “ specials “.... nope

That is a big reason for the design change, plus the new design is a about a third cheaper. With this crazy weather, building the porch roof may happen before the landscaping/ pond project can get completed. That freshly dug dirt will be muck for a couple of weeks.

Everyone have a great day!

PJ, that is awesome that someone else could put it to good use! Those are not cheap either!

The neighbor is selling 2 enclosed cargo trailers. They are both 2019, one is a Wells Cargo 7x14, fully paneled inside, all the extras —- $4500.

The other is an Interstate Loadrunner, 6x12, also finished inside, plus a heavy duty side ladder rack —- $4100.

They only have about 5-600 miles on them. Basically used for storage when he was moving off his ranch.

I bet he would even deliver them....

39 degrees early this morning and going for a partly sunny high of 52.

Well . . . I like to learn something new occasionally . . . so Saturday I placed an online grocery order for the first time to the nearest Walmart. I knew it wasn't going to be ready until today (Tuesday) between 8 and 9 a.m., but I didn't need any of it before today. So installed the Walmart app on my cell phone, and all went well . . . . until today. I was surprised to get a message this morning about 7:45 a.m. that my order was ready, but that was good; I was ready to go. And for the first time, this morning's message mentioned something not being available and a substitution. So I got there before 8 a.m. and "checked in" on my cell phone. They were busy, but a young man brought my order out and put it in the car pretty quickly. Of course I didn't look at it until I got home. They substituted all right; gave me a sweet potato pie in place of the peach cobbler I ordered. Now I like sweet potato pie, so not a big deal. However . . . the thing I really wanted, and the primary reason for placing an order, was some buns, 6 to a package and I wanted 3 packages for use with my cheddar/jalapeno beef sausages. Did not get any at all.

48 going up to 55 today had about 1.5" of rain yesterday. Quite a bit of flooding but no damage from that or the wind. Did see a big ash on my neighbors property break in half while we were walking the dog.

56° now, supposed to get around 60 today, after a hot humid afternoon yesterday. At least the wind has settled to a breeze.
Gotta go put all the flags back up, including Old Glory. Might mow, might not, not sure yet, but plan on some seat time.
Glad you all survived, a good friend had a big pine fall in his back yard, just missed everything.
Everyone please stay safe and have a good day. Prayers.

Silver maples are just giant weeds. My grandmother had them in her yard, always dropping limbs. I plant sugar maples, prettier leaves.
