So the dog & I just got back from our second morning walk. This time we walked out to the mail box - one mile each way. My garbage can is out there also. So, I stand there - go thru the mail. Keeper - garbage. As we are doing this a miserable spring squall came thru. Snowed like it was going to be really serious. Only lasted ten minutes but there I stand in my T-shirt & shorts. Dog & I huddled under a giant pine for protection. That's what we get for thinking spring was here.

Sounds like my friend when he first moved to LA, decided to ride his motorcycle one night to Las Vegas in short pants, tank top and flip flops. Riding across desert at night was freezing so he goes 100mph, got pulled over, he said he was blue. Cop felt sorry, didn't ticket him.

You know those folding ROPS, one really long day I was putting the tractor away and did my look front rear and then heard CRUNCH, the rops hit the door header.
Not too much damage, but pounding the header back into place is a good lesson. I now stop the tractor and do a walk around!

I don't think that you get the cherry for that one. I have never done it myself- however, I also don't have a garage to keep it in.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who had snow squalls today. I was sitting in the truck trying to get the energy to come in and get a fire going when- WTF is all of this white stuff coming down.
When I was young and just starting out, all that I had one summer was an 450 Honda. One night after work I headed down to my parent's house about 100 miles away... I was halfway down when it started snowing. I was still 30 miles away when the shifting lever fell off; I grabbed a pair of vise grips, put it in third gear, got it moving and ran the rest of the way down in that gear.

I did that when I first got my new JD, I have one separate garage I was pulling into when all at once I was looking at the rafters. It's hydrostatic so I quickly eased backwards. I thought they must have made garage well. The header metal it hit and bent symmetrically so I left it alone.

Oh my god, that's the one! It's actually a nice old classic wood ladder made by Lynn Ladder in Massachusetts in the 1980s. Little bit loose now but makes for a good beater ladder. Until it tried to kill me!

Not today but a goon one.

I just got my new Kubota L series tractor so I decided to burn some brush,

The pile was a pretty good size as I kept pushing brush in with the loader. One trip I got a little deep onto the pile of the burning bush and the tractor stalled with the entire front end from the front tires forward were in the hot coals.

Since I just dropped a bunch fo brush it went up like a match stick. I have second now to either restart the tractor of jump off while I still have a clean jump.

I hit the keys and floored it and the smoking tires and chared front end and loader along with me all pulled out of the fire.

WHEW that was a close one

Neighbors sink was clogged today. Tried plunging it, nope. Tried sticking one of those plastic barbed drain unclogging sticks in it, nope. Finally got out a spiral drain snake, stuck it in sink, worked at it...low and behold a minute later all the water in the sink went rushing down the drain. So far so good!
I even let the faucet run to flush the drain out as I was taking the snake out....but it got caught on something and wouldn’t come all the way back out.
....then I noticed all the water on the floor coming out of the cabinet under the sink. I’d put the snake right through the thin walled trap elbow and made a hole in the pipe.
Drain was still clogged, all the sink and faucet water was just running out the hole into the cabinet below.

You may not believe this, But I saw that one coming in the first paragraph. How did I know? because I have seen the metal elbows so thin you can press your finger thru them, and I knew that snake had a possibility of going right thru an old one.
