2019 ford ranger review....

My problem is that I am comparing this issue to the non issues I had with the 3.6 V6 in the GMC Canyon.

Our local dealership called yesterday to say they got in a tailgate liner in for us. Not driving much these days!

I thought of a workaround for that. Before you leave, put it in reverse.
If the camera is showing the bumper and the ground behind the truck, the tailgate is open.:cool2:

Is that where they're putting the cameras in pickups these days? I guess it's safe to assume that tailgates aren't made to be easily removable anymore?

Gee, seems that you've been away from new vehicles? Yes the tailgate is removable after you've unplugged the wiring. But I'll be dam$@edf when you take this rear camera away from us. I love that thing and keep the lens cleaned so its usable in parking lots or backing up anywhere.. And hooking up trailers is a breeze with it. I'm not one to grab onto new technology but this is one that you couldn't pull from my stiff fingers.

I doubt you would notice decreased mpg. You're only using additional fuel when requesting power levels above the existing 270 BHP, after all - hard to do that much on the road in normal driving.

BUT, do note that Ford then mandates premium fuel usage. So it will cost a LOT more than $825 in the long run.

Huuuuummm, we've towed our camper here and there and yes, we do have hills here. Oh end the speed limit is 65 on them. Why aren't we all excited about the extra ponies??

I don't buy new vehicles. Waste of money IMHO...I generally get something decent that's 8-10 years old and drive it 'til it's dust. Currently driving an '06 Jeep and an '02 Dakota, don't see myself replacing either for several years to come.

I don't really like backup cameras, but I agree they can be useful when hooking up a trailer. Well, sadly they're kind of a necessary evil with anything new given how little vision you have in modern vehicles. Don't even get me going on that. unch:

I'll run past Ford today and get the trail gate line for TxDon and I'll post some pictures.. I've been listening to our ranger engine noise just after start up and don't think its much. Not enough to bother me anyway.
