I'm starting to ease out of firewood and swing over to sawmill now. I wanted some 6' oak planks but due to Norwood's design flaw, lack of funds, lack of time and dont live in good deal USA, we sawed out a hemlock plank and shaped in two removable bunks that should be able hold up a redwood tree, took about two hrs and now we can saw 6' logs where as before 8' was the shortest.

I didn't do anything special, other than run nothing but "Husky fuel" in it for it's first several tanks. When I first got it, I also did as the manual said to do, and ran a few full throttle longer cuts so the carb would make it's first adjustments.

I never run it or any other saw, hard and then shut it right off, I always let them idle a bit to cool down some before being shut off. I also let them rev., NO lugging and I've had very good service out of the saws I've owned, at least out of the power plants.

No idea, never even ran a 501, but the 562 is a 60cc saw, I really prefer to run a 20" bar on my 60cc saws...

Well it can, my Echo is a 50cc, my 550xp can beat it. You use the primer bulb when starting? Seems like Husqvarna dealers make a big deal about that.

Nice info on the jacks to drop a tree. I have never seen that done before. Out here on the East coast we do not have tall trees like you folks up on the NW.

Yes, I use the primer bulb, it works just fine.

The 562xp will blow my 550xp right away, as it should...

I just like chainsaws, I have way more saws than I need, but I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, so I have to pizz my money away some place... lol

How come - you all done already ? It was a great week to work on firewood. Most days it was snowing with a stiff wind out of the NW. Not a bug around. You needed your winter woolies though.

Pretty solid looking bunks alright. Look good.
