Yes I found it with the band, but all it did was take a bit of the sharpness out... I still finished the cant with that band, as it was still cutting straight.

Lead will do the same thing, unless it's lead shot which doesn't have too much effect of the band, unless there's a LOT of it.

Well there might be a difference in just lead cowboy bullets vs todays jacketed bullets.

Done what, the wire or log back stops or both, my mill was just 1 hr in 2011 when my son hit the log back stop, so far it's only been a couple more times, and it will toast the blade.

Hit the stops!! I did not check but I'm guessing mine was about an hour old too the first time. I'm thinking I've hit them 3 times now...

Five Star was five Christmas tree farms included into one name, one was in Molalla, us in Rainier, another out in Gales Creek, and the two others I never met.

OK, I'm only about 7 miles from Molalla, I am towards Colten (between Molalla and Colten).

Another nice day here today, so I decided to get started splitting some wood. So, I drove the splitter over to the trailer with big rounds on it,

And there were some NICE blocks of firewood on that trailer! I just rolled them right onto the splitters beam,

This is the biggest round of the day,

I had to push it through the 4-way several times to get it all down to the sizes I wanted, but it's nice that those big blocks fill my half cord boxes pretty fast!

In a few days, I'll be back at it!

Well since all the firewood cleaning agent is now gone and replaced with mud, firewood gets to dirty, but when I get my car pressure washer building built to wash my firewood I'll keep cutting although it is getting close to bug season and I differently wont cut wood then. I still remember back in the day chainsaw oil was also used on helmets in spring time............

Right now is a good time of year to work on property lines if they need it, no bugs, no snow, and no leaves on the trees. I bought a little 2 1/2 acre house lot because the price was right. It’s only 1/4 mile of line but I had to connect the corners, I’ve been picking away at them on my way home from work a couple of nights every week.

It's also a good time to repair woods road to if it drys up a little, seems like a wet April this year. I might have to wait til August but like to get it done now.

Ever since this west lumber jack has mention how great square saw chain sharpening is and since it goes against all my round filing experience, I've been looking around for more details and info about square sharpening and I just found it, I was impressed, never seen filing like this before.
