Add a palm nailer to the mix. You don't need it a lot but when you do, it's the only thing that works.
The way my shoulders are, When it comes to big nails, I use my palm nailer more than any other nailer. Like when I was building this 30' beam,

When chiropractor appointments become a significant part of your firewood cutting costs, it's time to make a change.

I have enough potential firewood around. Unless it's a saw log, depending on the species, I'll just leave things larger than than about 20-24" diameter where they lie (24" diameter x 16" Red Oak weighs about 270 lbs. I have a hydraulic lifter on my splitter, but I don't even want to roll that over to the splitter, let alone deal with splitting and resplitting it.)

Yep, 20-24" is the biggest I want to mess with either.. and those are usually pine saw logs..

They are great for working in tight spots where a regular nail gun won't go or there is no room to swing a hammer...a secondary (unintended) use is as an "air hammer"...got something stuck or seized??...apply your favorite penetrating oil and hit it with the palm nailer...easy to improvise adapters to concentrate the effect...

Got me beat, I only have 4. 2 finish, a roofing nailer, and a framing nailer.

I have a pneumatic framer, a battery framer (love it), a finish nailer, brad nailer, and a roofing gun, all pneumatic... oops I guess I lied, I only have 5...

Never tried one of those, what exactly do you use it for?

I might have to look into one.. I can always use a new tool!

Because it will drive any size nail old or new, and bigger ones, than my frame nailer will, you can even drive nails into tight places that a frame nailer will never go. They are light for working over head too...

And they are cheap too...

Palm nailers drive common nails...any common nail with a head...if you don't have a specialty (hardware) nail gun for shooting through metal fasteners, clips, strapping etc...they work great with the joist hanger or stub nails...

I think HF has them for about $25...just keep them oiled...

OH YEAH... joist hangers, I definitely see a use there!! AND I'm getting ready to build a 9x20 shooting deck, might need to go to HF!
