Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 5:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 88F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Back in my high school days, PCP was horse tranquilizer, and it made kids do stupid stuff in gym class. My, how things have changed...
Gonna be a run on a lot of things when businesses open up, Drew. Just look at how many of us need haircuts!
Hope this latest dance with the new doc gets to the bottom of the dizzy spells.
Careful you don't step on any nails, Bill!
Still holding at 16 cases in Butte County, no deaths, no new cases in the past week.
There's a lot of discussion about the deadliness of CoVid-19 compared to past flu seasons. I read an article this morning that last year's toll was 80,000, more than double than in previous years, mostly due to H2N3. Most areas haven't yet peaked for CoVid-19, so those numbers will get worse, and we don't know how much worse they'll get. But this year could be nothing compared to the future.
For some history on flu, read
this article, . Now it looks like there will be two strains of flu that most older people have never been exposed to, and therefor have no immunity to. There's no vaccine for CoVid-19, and the one for N2H3 isn't very effective. H2N3 is very virulent, CoVid-19 even worse. H2N3 was responsible for the majority of deaths last year. That doesn't bode well for next flu season at all. The one bright bit of news is that CoVid-19 only lasts a couple of minutes when exposed to summertime heat and sunlight. Hopefully that gives researchers time to develop a vaccine and better testing techniques, and suppliers to catch up on the PPE and disinfectant shortfalls. And for us all to get used to washing hands, not shaking hands, and doing business at a distance.
Late start yesterday, not much done. Reviewed the radio hookup instructions again, and couldn't find anything wrong. I did learn how to turn off the outputs to the subwoofer and rear speakers, neither of which were hooked up, and that got rid of the distortion. I guess the electronics didn't like trying to drive a 20' length of 10 gauge wire without a real impedance at the end.:confused2: Put the radio manual in the glove box, which was also new for this last trip. It was really nice having a safe place for the registration and proof of insurance papers, and an old iPod for backup tunes. But I didn't quite have time to mount the two straps that keep the g'box from flopping onto the floor. Think of a bin, open at the top and hinged at the bottom, and that's VW's idea of a glovebox in the van. Yesterday I found some black nylon webbing, and the mounts for what VW used for the straps, which are nothing more than "C" shaped holes, with the open sides up. A knot in each end of the webbing to keep it from pulling through, and now the glovebox is done.
Opened up the box for the alarm system, and found only a single piece of paper for instructions. It gave a URL where I could download the full installation guide and owner's manual. Thirty pages for the former, another eighteen for the latter. Spent the rest of the day reading them, and by the end, my head was spinning. So many features, very few of which, thankfully, I'm interested in. So I printed out the installation guide, and will highlight the parts that are applicable, and hope I don't miss anything.
The alarm fob will also work electric door locks, which have yet to be installed. But before I do that, I need to finish the sound deadening in the doors. So that's what I'll work on today. :drink:
BTW, TGIF!!!
