That is great! I have never fished for them on purpose, but occasionally catch some off our dock. I hear they are good eating and I should probably figure out how to target them for a fish fry dinner sometime.

Indeed they are; the smaller ones are a bit too bony for me though. My Grandad loved them, and he went after them with a vengeance. He rigged his pole with two hooks and a bobber. He used one of the bobbers with the button on top, and the wire hook on the other end, set where the bobber would slide up and down the line. He tied a knot in the line at the depth he wanted to fish, and the line would go down until the bobber was stopped by the knot. When it was reeled in, it would slide the other way past the knot. I have seen him pull in two crappie at a time with that rig...of course he used minnows.
