John Deere 990 Compact intermittent starting problems

If I manage to get my John Deere started it will run perfectly until I turn it off and then try to restart. Then starter will not turn to start engine. Looking for anyone who may have had the same problem and what was needed to solve problem.

Have you checked battery to ground. That was my problem with similar issues

How do you manage to get it started? jumper cables? or something else?

+1, check ground cable, especially where it connects to frame, don’t just look at it, undo it and clean both cable and where it mates.
These years of Yanmars were famous for poor ground issues with age.
