Another R&R legend has past. He was before my time, and not somebody I would be inclined to listen to anyways; yet he also was a founder back when rock was in it's infancy.

Actually he was from Macon GA...along with Otis Redding, The Allman Brothers, REM and other renown musicians/artists...

That's sad. Harold was my favorite Statler Brother.

The Allman Brothers were formed in Jacksonville, Florida. Duane & Gregg grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida.

FYI...I saw them often in the early years in clubs from Daytona to Tampa...before that Dickey Betts was a guitarist in several local bands where I grew up and my sister was a close friend of his later to be first wife...
...After the release of their first album Macon became their "home town"...

BTW...I was at several club shows where the Allman Bros. were the lead act and 'Mudcrutch' was the warm up band...If you don't know Mudcrutch later became 'Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers'...!!!

I’ve seen the Allmans quite a few times, including Greg performing at a small beach bar on Melbourne Beach but I’m not the quite the groupie you are :laughing:
