Run the Extreme 5W40, you can run it year round with no worries. We have been running T6 or Premium blue extreme since the first service on the 1635 with zero issues.

FYI. Valvoline blends all of Kubota's branded lubricants, SUDT included.

You don't want to be changing oil with the seasons, especially if your not putting that many hours on it. That gets expensive, is a PITA and is totally wasteful. Use a weight range that works summer and winter for you based on lowest and highest temps you'll "start" your tractor in. If your storing it in a somewhat or even unheated building the starting temps will be very different than the outside temps. Check it and see. I do agree that a 5W or 0W-30 will likely work best for you depending on conditions. Next would be a 5W-40.

It will be stored in my garage so than you for the recommendation. Once I am done with this oil, I will settle on the 0W-30 or 5W.

Just a general question. Do you guys change the filter with every oil change? The filter said change every 300 hours. I mean, its cheap enough to change with every oil change but I wonder if people leave it in for more than 1 change.

I change the oil plus the oil filter every 200 hours on my small tractor L3800 Do you have the book on your tractor ?
