after discussions with the service have to check a couple things tonight, first is there a stop on the go pedal preventing it from full stroke, the other is the motor reaching the rpm of 2600, will ley them know shortly

hi ruffdog, tires would not come into the actual indicated speed, at least that's my thought, the series A would do 18 to 20 mph indicated all day

If you have the 29 inch tires, you can change the controller settings so it thinks you have the 27" tires. You would in fact gain speed in that instance.

edit...doing this would net you a 7.4% gain in speed.

interesting, that is a dealer setting correct? the tires are 27 inch tall

the motor revs out to 2630 rpm no load, it holds 2600 rpm at 10 mph but as it increases to full speed it peaks out at 2300 rpm,

Look under Control Panel Setup in the manual where you determine the perimeters for Two-speed, High Flow, Horsepower Management, and Tire Size. Look in the chapter named System Setup and Analysis.

edit...I'm not sure if it would get you more speed or if it just changes the calculation of indicated travel speed.

thanks ruffdog, I would have figured with the extra HP and turbo it could reach and maintain full speed of 17 to 18 MPH, at 13 mph the motor is at 2300 rpm, never reaches the 2600 however the percentage the motor is down rpm does not equate to 18 mph.

will get hold of dealer tomorrow, 4 mph does not sound a lot but its 30% increase in the current speed, the dealer has to figure this out, reading regards tire size, indicated speed is unchanged but actual ground speed will increase going from 27 to 29 inch tires.

now the wait, first idea was the engine is loaded up with machine moving, this is something they have to sort out, the motor is not bogging down and if it is Bobcat should revise the specs to reflect 13 mph as top speed, no where does it state 17 mph is a calculated speed if motor holds 2600 rpm

the series A had a 30hp motor no turbo and would run all day at a solid 18 mph on flat roads

anyone have the newer 5600 that could see if it can run 2600 rpm and reach the indicated speed of 17 mph, had I known this would definatly been a deal breaker

Is 2600 rpm your maximum no load engine speed?

DEWFPO

yes it is, just sitting and rev it up, over lunch will let it warm up, rev it up and slowly see when it starts to drop and what speed its at

bit more info, throttle motor to 2000 rpm, high speed on and push pedal fully the rpm drops about 105 but recovers quickly and runs 12 mph, same test at 2200 rpm it drops rpm but recovers quickly and speed 12.5 mph, now 2600 rpm, drops to 1600 rpm recovers slowly to 2300 and speed 13 mph, length of driveway is 1 km and it never recovers, something real off on this one, on no test does the motor bog or sound like its working.

at this time dealer has no idea

I removed the brush hog from the front and tested our G Series with 29 inch Trac (R4) tires.

Idles at 1220 in neutral move lever all the way up, goes to 2630 then slowly drops to 2600.

Throttle motor to 2000 rpm, in forward, high speed on and push pedal fully the rpm drops to 1500 but recovers quickly.

Same test at 2200 rpm it drops rpm but recovers quickly, didn't check speeds.

Level road, throttle motor to max, shows 2630, slowly drops to 2600 rpm, in forward, high speed on and push pedal fully the rpm drops to 19xx and climbs quickly to 2630, settling to 2600 and 18.3 mph. Max speed on slight downhill was 18.7 mph.
