CEL DPF

Got the tractor back today. Same issue as a year ago, DPF 200% clogged hence the CEL and limp mode. Now reading 4%. It never read that low after the forced regen a year ago, so the pressure washing worked. However, the dealer claims DPF cannot be washed because it's different, unlike an OTR truck DPF it has a heater in it and washing it will ruin it. LOL. They also claim it's plugging up because I'm using bad fuel. The same bad fuel that is causing zero issues in a Kubota skid steer and another Kioti tractor. This tractor gets used in the winter solely for grapple work. The problem has happened 2 springs in a row as soon as we start using it hard again. This winter we did manual regens to try to prevent it but it happened anyway. Something else is going on. I'm putting the higher temp thermostat in it. Jim R, exactly how did they eventually diagnose your bad injector?

I also was told that my.problem was probably bad fuel or biodiesel. They found the bad injector by doing a Run Up and Shut Down test on the injectors.

What is a run up and shut down test? I'm also looking for induction leaks.

I was told that it checks the output of the fuel injectors. Mine didn't pass the shut down test but the Kioti Rep said that it was okay as long as the run up test was good.

The induction test is done with a smoke machine to test the integrity of the intake system, if it has a turbo then pressure is used. I PM'd you two days ago to see if you wanted the info as I won't post it here.

Injector tests are done with the scan tool.

They did my injector test using a laptop and Kioti software.

A quick down and dirty way to check for an out of balance injector is that cylinders exhaust temperature on the will be higher then the others. All injectors will have mechanical tips with a poppet if too much fuel is ran through the orifice in the nozzle (tip) will be enlarged causing an uneven spray pattern or worse over fueling that cylinder.

10 hours of running hard, no idling, DPF light is flashing. I park it to regen. It goes to 1500 RPM stays there, never goes to 2300, then goes back to idle with CEL on. Since the DPF was at 4% when I got it back there is no way it got to 100%+ in 10 hours unless there is something else wrong. Induction leak, over fueling injector, bad DPF differential pressure sensor. Now how to get it diagnosed?

Unfortunately, it sounds like another trip back to the dealer. I think 10 hours and it's plugged again blows the "bad fuel" argument out of the water. Something else is going on.

Update, 2nd dealer is trying and seems to know what he is doing. Obviously cleared code and forced regen got DPF back to 0%. Now instead of handing it back to me is trying to figure out why it's plugging up or reporting being being plugged up so quickly. Tried to do the run up / shut down test and it's not letting him, so he's trying to get Kioti to figure out why. He has completely dismissed fuel issues. On the hunch I might be in for a similar experience to JimR, and the fact it was struggling with the disc harrow and I have work that's not getting done I spent a week comparing specs and shopping and brought home a new Case Farmall 75A. It puls the harrow like it's not there. It's quiet, comfortable, everything seems to work smoother. Best thing is NO DPF and NO SCR. I'm not totally off of Kioti yet, the CK has been flawless, and the only issue with the NX is this one. However, the dealer network, parts supply chain and corporate support of the dealers is sorely lacking. My neighbor, who let me borrow his truck and trailer to get the 75A and is a serious, large scale farmer and has millions of dollars worth of Case equipment just chuckled when he saw me pull up with the new tractor. "I see you finally decided to get a real tractor".

How many hours?

I'm at 500 hrs and I've had ZERO DPF issues, no CELs. My tractor runs a regen perhaps every 50 hrs or so. I try to keep it operating 1,800+ rpm, but it sometimes gets a bit of idle time.

Have to wonder whether there's an issue with sensor circuitry/wiring. DFP flow is monitored by a pre and post sensor. I'd figure that programming would handle cases of bad sensors, but perhaps not for flaky wiring?
