I have been looking into changing my front tires on my M7060 tractor for a while . I got the tractor at a deal but it has the skinny R1 tires on it and I really wanted the fatter tires. Its so hard to find info on tires and what will interchange so I figured if I got front tires close to the same height as the 9.5-24 that are on there now, it would work. Even my dealer told me to call a company that sells universal rims and mounts tires with the same ratio on them. Anyway , my research says my 9.5-24 tire has a dia of 41.6 and I found a set of new 43x16.5-24 r4 tires on 8 lug jd wheels close to my house for $525. The dia of those tires is 42.5. SO thats less then 1" difference. Im thinking if they will bolt on they should work fine.

3 parts to the conversation, width/type of tire and height of tire, lug spacing (I’m assuming you still have R1 on back and are switching to R4 on front?)
I think the diameter is close enough that you’ll be ok in 4WD on soft ground, fine. On pavement, youre not supposed to run 4WD, but if you did, youll notice skipping or wind-up if the ratio is off. If your back tires are really worn and the fronts have a lot of tread, it could make it worse. Might be good idea to keep R1s and rims around until youre sure it’s ok.
Lug spacing- no idea obviously youll have to measure.
Traction- you will lose traction. Ain’t no way in heck R4 comes close to R1 in the dirt, mud, anywhere off road. R4 better flotation on soft lawns and better loader tire when theyre a smaller tire like that.
Might need a few cans of Kubota orange spray paint.

I agree with you on all 3 parts. I have new tires on the back and will keep the original fronts and I only use my tractor fro mowing and hay so traction is not an issue. The skinny fronts now tear up my turf when I turn and if its not completely dry, they mark up the ground as well.

Here's a Google link with dozens of responses regarding Rolling Circumference Index (RCI). That's what's critical in regards to maintaining a proper gear ratio.

Can't help you with the bolt pattern.

In my World the difference between R4 and R1 with a load of the FEL would be insignificant.

My Son has a 7060 with the R1W option tires. It rocks!!!! 320/85/20 tires on the front. They work great!!!!
