I remember one set of discs we had (Made In England) didn’t use manufactured bearing assembles. Just two cast pieces with a grease nipple. No easy off the shelf fixes for those.![]()
When Dad had his farm equipment sale, back in 1987, I bought his old pull type 8ft tandem disc. I bought it because I had cut my eye teeth in tractor operation pulling that disc when I was 7. That's the type gang bearings it uses.
Ten years ago I used that disc to till in 15 acres of CRP grass seed. Pulled it with my previous L4400 Kubota. The front discs are barely larger than the cast iron cones between them.
