That is one cutting saw. You got a good price it seems.

I had it for sale for some time, 4 months or more. I wouldn’t let it go unless I got a good price for it since it’s such a handy tool. Most sell in the $700-$850 range depending on condition, but they don’t come up for sale often. Mine was the only one within 100 miles.

Guy drove an hour and half one way to get it.

That is a great way to cut the clutter and make a few bucks. If the item is no longer being used and not needed for future use then it is time to get rid of it. Let someone else get some use out of it.

Prob with chainsaws or anything with an engine for that matter, the longer they sit, the worse they get. This one is perfectly tuned, don’t smoke, not a bit of hesitation with the throttle. Super healthy saw, I feared I don’t run it enough to keep it that way.

I was to the point of volunteering to cut up trees for people every year just to run the saws a few times a year.

My son in law did the same thing. Shortly after they bought their 7 acre place in the country, he went and bought a JD 4350. 4WD, cab, loader, A/C, all the bells and whistles. Way bigger than he needed. $30k. After a few years, and getting his major projects done, he sold it for about what he paid for it. He looked hard for a replacement, and found an older, smaller Kubota B1550 $5k, which fills their needs (and budget) nicely.

Another one left. The 960 that I used in place of the 4320 was sold yesterday.

I’m thinking about selling the house and moving to start a farm. I’m in Ohio so I’ll be selling more stuff this year. I’m 29, have been day dreaming about farming for the last 10 years.

Thinking further south west (west of Georgia, as far as Kansas) where ground is reasonable. I can’t find ground near me for less than 25k per acre, can’t do anything with that.

Good luck with your search. I hope you find and live your dream.

Depending on what kind of farming you want to do, don't look just at price - look at the soil and what will grow there. In northwest AR and the Ozarks, it's mostly all rocks. Not completely unworkable, but actual dirt would be real nice to have. And note that prices can vary widely over just a few miles depending on how many rich folks want to live there or divide the land for sub-divisions.

That’s the problem I have now, ground is selling for residential and farmers need to move much further away. I will be doing a whole lot of research on where I will go. I would like to keep my job and add 50-100 acres and do both, then add farm land as I can. But I don’t think that will work so might have to move.

Help is the biggest thing, I will have help here, I will have to find new help in new areas.

Thanks. This won’t be soon, will be better part of a year, hopefully the Real estate doesn’t fall in that time.

What kind of farming are you thinking about doing?
