Hello all, just thought I would share my new Subsoiler with you. It's a King Kutter, and so far so good, I did a little YouTube video for your viewing pleasure. I shoud say I am by no means a professional YouTuber, so I apologize in advance, but just having a little fun making videos, hopefully some of you enjoy...

You have a long and prosperous youtube career ahead of you. How much weight and power are needed to sink that thing? My mx5200 weighs about 7000lbs with the way I have it now. How deep could I subsoil?

Well thank you for the kind words regarding my video, I am just having fun with it, I think I have like 8 videos that I have made, check them out when you get a chance. I have always enjoyed watching what others are up to with their tractors, so I thought what the heck, might as well share what I am up to as well.

As for the Subsoiler, I admittedly have limited experience as it is a new implement for me, and a lot will depend on the composition of your soil. In my case, the soil is pretty sandy, but for fun I did pull it thru some higher ground yesterday on my property that wasn't a mud hole, and in the lowest gear, my tractor was able to easily sink it 2ft down at idle in 4wd, and I hooked what felt like some pretty good size tree roots and it ripped thru them like nothing.

I think you have more than enough tractor with your MX5200, plenty of HP and weight, probably childs play for it really, unless you encounter a large boulder of course...

SM....I used one many years back in similar conditions and soil. We ended up with 2 feet of goo instead of water and shallow mud. We ended up digging out the goo and dropping in loads of field stones to stabilize the hole. We never used the SS again where we drove equipment. It works better if the SS can reach gravel that the water can drain to.

ruffdog, I appreciate you sharing your experience, and it makes total sense... I might very well end up with that exact same problem, as I mentioned in the video I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly what I end up having to do. Since this is our future driveway, and at some point we'll be running some large trucks down this drive while our home is being built, it might be the wise thing to do.

I am a truck driver by trade, and I would be less than amused if some clown knowingly had a sink hole in their driveway and I buried my rig in it. I will give it some time to dry up this summer, and then see where we are at after some heavy rain, and go from there.

Hi Squatch, just subscribed to your channel. Looks like quite a challenge building that driveway! I'll be watching.
I've experienced some of the same challenges, I'm in W. Michigan also!

Underdog57, nice looking tractor, and thank you for subscribing... Hopefully some folks will enjoy coming along for the ride, it should be a fun one. I am building a pole barn home on the property, I have a little less than two years to get things ready before I absolutely have to break ground, but I am hoping to do so much sooner than that, we'll see.

At some point you should remove that tree that leans toward the driveway. I would hate to see what that would do to your cab.

Most certainly, it's in the plans, I have been flirting with it for a year now, and my luck will run out eventually. Let's just say it's been a topic of conversation with my better half, she wants to keep it, so I have just let it go. She doesn't realize, that if I don't drop it, it's real likely that at some point it will just split the tree in half, and we'll lose the whole tree. Next good winds we get, it might just fall victim, cough cough, that would be a shame.
