It is running the battery down. Getting no charge from the alternator obviously, since it did it twice. I checked the belt, it is OK

If you have a volt meter put the leads on the battery posts with the engine running. The volt meter should read 13.8 to 14.5 volts depending on the charge of the battery.

That will tell me if it's charging, why didn't I think of that? I'm starting to think it is the regulator. If it was the fusible link it wouldn't start with the key right?

it should start with a bad fusible link, that only fuses the output of the alternator, with a fully charged battery, it should still start.. and then stop when the battery is discharged.. after running a while.. do you get lights?. you could have a bad battery cable, or a blown large fuse somewhere else.. have you tried a jumper cable from the + battery terminal to the small(solenoid) wire on the starter to see if it cranks over??..

Yeah, it runs until the new battery dies, and then when I charge it it runs another 3-4 hours before dying. I get lights, and I checked all the fuses. So I should replace the link first? It is the easiest fix. LOL
