Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

The problem with cutting stone or concrete is the dust. It gets sucked into the motor and takes out the brushes and the commutator. The motor will last longer if you either blow the dust away with compressed air or vacuum it up with a shop vac. If the shop vac doesn't have a good filter you can figure it won't last long either.

I don't know about you but, I try not to mix water and 120 volts. Particularly, if the tools aren't built to do it.

Why not? The tool is grounded. What is the difference in a wet tile saw? BTW another HF tool that doesn't suck.

I would be sure to go get my portable ground fault cord.

I bought the 7" Diamondback tile saw. It cut with amazing precision. And was spraying water all over the place as designed to cool the blade. Unlike the video they posted on their web site I used the blade that came with the saw and had no troubles. The Diamondback products are exempt from the general 20% off coupons but they had a 20% off all diamondback stuff coupon I used. I think I was about $238 out the door. Sold it with a piece of a bucket of RedGard after I was done with my shower project for $200.

I went in one of the HF stores yesterday and they had a butt load of empty hooks. They were out of both items I went in for. I guess the China link is slowing them down. I look forward to paying higher prices for American made products in the future. It will take a while for our country to gear up and start producing everything we outsourced so we will have a dry spell where we just have to do without. I hope it doesn't take us too long to catch back up and recover.

.Too bad, HF & Ebay were good places to get cheap onetime use tools.

Now I will have to pay top dollar or hire the job out.

I may have to break down and buy one of the engine hoists/shop cranes. I'm finding too many times when I need to lift something in the 500 pound range at a place where I don't have anything above to rig anything and the FEL isn't convenient. Since I have so much uneven ground I might have to move it over, I'd probably have to replace the wheels though, but would that affect the capacity or stability?

The wheels are designed for concrete floors, not gravel or dirt. Guess you could upgrade to some king of tire but I don't know what.
