Loader 2538/2638 loader pressure relief valve

   / 2538/2638 loader pressure relief valve #11
I have a new 2638 My forks will not tip up under some heavy logs to cause the log to roll back against the rear of the forks. When I move stick to left, and try to lift, tips of forks sag and cause the log to roll off the forks so the tractor cannot even try to lift it. I traded in a 3016 that did not have this problem. I have a notion that the problem is related to relief valve associated with “float” feature of joystick. Dealer is working on it. Any insight?Comments? Help? Thanks

Have you heard anything back from your dealer on this?

Thanks

Dealer says relief pressure is per specs. He is going to check if piston is blown. Also says my CID brand keeps load out from pivot point farther than Mahindra forks. CID forks are for Bobcat he says. I have used them on 3016 for ten years

Anyone found out how to adjust the pressure on the 2638 with the loader valve under the right floor board yet? They dont have the relief valve on them like the ones on the 2538 that are mounted on the loader. After a lot of digging around on TYM tractor manuals I found what looks to be the main hydraulic relief valve. Looks to be mounted on the inside of the pto valve just in front of the rear tire on the right hand side of the tractor. Im assuming that you have to pull that block with the solenoid valve on it off and then you can get to the relief valve. most likely have to take it apart and shim it to adjust the pressure but not certain.

That sounds far too complicated for a novice mechanic like myself. I notice that with a bucket load of what we call 57's rock, the bucket actually rotates downward and then recovers after it spills a little over the front edge - leading me to believe that the relief pressure may be way low - again, dealer says everything is to specs - too bad you can't "test drive" a tractor in real action before you spend a lot of money. Note: I should have seen this - the up/down lever is squeezed between the seat and transmission lever - hard to use, also the up/down does not have a built in stop - so if you raise the bush hog over a stump, you must look back to see where to lower it back for the cutting level you want - very inconvenient. Question - in FWD should one front wheel spin in the air while crossing a ditch while the other one does not grab? Thanks for any replies

The loader is disappointing at times that’s for sure. As for the 3 point lever between the seat and fender, it wasn’t as bad with the original 2538 seat. I ended up bending mine over to clear the seat a little better. I also added a stop for the lever. A simple T-Nut, knob, and rubber washer fixed that. As for the front wheel sinning and the other not moving. That’s normal for most all tractors. Hard to turn with a locked diff up front. Smash the diff lock in the rear and power on.

I'm sure the hydraulic gurus will correct me if I'm wrong but the main relief valve only protects the pump. The loader valve has to have its own relief valve. If your loader valve has seven hoses then one of those hoses is the relief back to tank.

Anyluck with finding the loader relief valve ? My curl (breakout) force is weak on my 2018 2638HST Cab. I talked to Mahindra and they suggested to test the pressure to see if its at 2347 psi. I ordered a test setup after confirming that my couplers were ISO 5675 1/2". Will test the bucket cylinder pressure and see what I have.

Assuming its low, it would be great to know how to increase the pressure.

Thanks
