CEL DPF

Update, 2nd dealer is trying and seems to know what he is doing. Obviously cleared code and forced regen got DPF back to 0%. Now instead of handing it back to me is trying to figure out why it's plugging up or reporting being being plugged up so quickly. Tried to do the run up / shut down test and it's not letting him, so he's trying to get Kioti to figure out why. He has completely dismissed fuel issues. On the hunch I might be in for a similar experience to JimR, and the fact it was struggling with the disc harrow and I have work that's not getting done I spent a week comparing specs and shopping and brought home a new Case Farmall 75A. It puls the harrow like it's not there. It's quiet, comfortable, everything seems to work smoother. Best thing is NO DPF and NO SCR. I'm not totally off of Kioti yet, the CK has been flawless, and the only issue with the NX is this one. However, the dealer network, parts supply chain and corporate support of the dealers is sorely lacking. My neighbor, who let me borrow his truck and trailer to get the 75A and is a serious, large scale farmer and has millions of dollars worth of Case equipment just chuckled when he saw me pull up with the new tractor. "I see you finally decided to get a real tractor".

I feel your pain and was told Kioti help was slow on my machine. My tractor would not load up and pull the CEL unless I had it under a load like mowing my fields which are more like a lawn and not a field. Your tractor running at 1500 was already running in limp mode and too late to do a regen. If you can catch it in time you can disconnect the balance sensor and run a manual regen. You do need to leave the hood open due to hot exhaust blowing out of the lines against the hood. I think you have a bad injector like I did. Where you say that your machine struggles to pull a plow tells me it is loading up. I now have over 50 hours on mine since I got it back and it has gone thru one regen all on it's own while I was using it. That was a first or me since buying this over 3 years ago. It would always fail an automatic regen and I would have to do a manual regen. I hope they can figure out how to do the run up and shut down test on your tractor. Mine failed the shut down test and the Kioti Rep said that it was okay.

1000 hrs, I suspect it's a bad injector just like JimR. Only way a DPF can load up so quickly is rich mixture.

It's interesting the difference a different dealer makes. I'd go back to one that was interested in resolving my issue instead of just doing triage and sending me on my way. Shows they care about their customers, and I'd reciprocate by giving them my business.

I'm with you on the corporate support network. Kioti's North America service network is definitely on the poor side. The only thing they have to make up for it is individual dealers that care about customers. Unfortunately, finding a stellar dealer is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Kioti could probably double their US sales, if future buyers had trust in their dealer network for service issues. Most owners can do maintenance, but emission problems seem to confuse even the best equipped Kioti dealers, who clearly lack sufficient training. Worse yet, Corporate Kioti is deliberately evasive on engine code diagnostics, rather than being open and transparent.

Unfortunately, It took me about 3 years of Kioti tractor ownership, to learn the true state of Kioti, which is best characterized by reliable and well built tractors, purchased from caring dealers who have recieved inadequate training. Corporate Kioti appears either unaware or unconcerned about this issue.

Just ranting about Kioti, because i seriously dread the day my CEL light comes on, because I see the incredible hardship JimR and Todd92 have experienced from Kioti.

I agree with what you said here and have been a victim to it. I'm going on 45 hours since my last regeneration with no issues. I always run my tractor at 2k rpms except when mowing. It would be nice if Kioti owners had the ability to read codes and clear a CEL when it occurs. As of the other day Kioti Corporate failed to reimburse me for my warranty repair work that I incurred on my tractor. I sent in copies of all the bills and a detailed letter explaining everything that happened. Not only did the fail to reimburse me, but they didn't even respond to my request. I will be proceeding in a legal way against Kioti. They owe me almost $1600.00.

JimR, your experience alone would prevent me from buying a new KIOTI. I’ll keep my 2004, simple, non-emission machine for as long as possible and if I ever need to replace it I’d likely go with name brand orange or green machine. I’d be so frigging pissed off paying for warranty work! Asinine!

I had no problem paying for the work done up front as the dealer needs to pay his workers. My problem with Kioti is not standing behind their product warranty. It is not like any of my issue had anything to do with misuse etc. This was a failed part that couldn't get diagnosed properly due to what I believe was technical supports fault.

Talked to my dealer friend yesterday, said they just finished up a machine with similar problems but only 300 hours. It turned out to be a bad turbocharger that was allowing oil to pollute the DPF in a very short time.

Also told me tractors are moving like hotcakes, sold 29 pieces of equipment (motorized, skid steers, excavators) in April, a record for them.

CK2610s are not being made or shipped and there aren't many to be had right now. The demand is high, entry level home gardener machines, tillers, you name it.

I have a huge problem with you being out cash for warranty repair. Not your responsibility to pay anyone anything for warranty repair!! Cost of doing business and justifying margins on sale of machines. Ridiculous process and I’ve never Heard Of it before your post!
