Disc Harrow John Deere disc harrows

I have a set of 8 ft disc harrows very similar to the ones in the attached photos. They work well, but the majority of my harrowing is in small patches, so I need to pull them in the straight-ahead mode as much as the full spread mode. I have a quick and dirty plug I drop in the tongue to keep the gangs together, but I spend as much time climbing on and off the tractor as I do getting any work done. There is an assembly in the middle of the tongue that will accommodate the locking and release of the gangs with a pull of the rope, but the moving parts are missing on mine. I have spent a fair time on google looking for any photo or sketch that I can copy, and the attached are the best I found. Does anyone out there have a diagram from an owners manual or a good photo of your own harrows that clearly depict what I don't have?

I have one of those I cut in half and locked in the 0 angle position, weighted it heavily and pull it through my Bermuda patch for aeration. I don't remember if I left the tongue mechanism in place or not. I'm having coffee right now but later I'll go out and see what's what. If It's still intact I'll see if I can shoot and post a picture of it.

1. Looking toward the tongue: Rope attachment point to lift lever in near view....this appears to be a shop built sheet steel with a cutting torch. As you look forward into the U shaped housing, you see a pin protruding out the top which is a thru pin with the other end protruding down into the rectangular hole in the tongue. Around that pin is a return spring used to ensure that the pin remains engaged when the rope/handle is released.

2. Side view, tongue on the right. Note at bottom right of the U shaped housing is another pin which is the pivot point for the release handle.

3. Forward view, looking toward the discs, you see the front end of the lift lever encircling the pivot pin. I welded the slide to the tongue for some reason. Since I had separated the front discs from the tandem, and had them parallel to the line of travel, I didn't want them changing direction as it is an aerator now, not a harrow.
