I needed to remove the vibration from my motorcycle handlebars. Planning a long trip out west this summer. The anti-vibration risers can be purchased for around $150, so I decided to give it a try. The picture shows the ones I built on top of a picture of the store-bought model. I used it to get an idea of the dimensions and then winged it a bit, making things up as I went along. Used an old gas line for the bolt bushing holding the two pieces together. The washers were cut from a block of rubber I had, but ran out of material, so I found a few rubber washers for one of the sides. And, the best news, they really work well.

For the 1000th post in the thread, here is a mower that came through the shop, picked it up for a friend who was moving and needed a mower.

Needed a fuel pump, an oil change and headlights.

My post counter only shows 994 post 995 now.

We have two milestones! 100th page and some lucky poster will get to post the 1000th post!

I might have to sit here, mouse in hand, to quickly click right after number 999. Oh, the fun.

Not "today" but recent, finally got the seized upper pin out of my LJ500 mini skid steer. (ongoing thread in SkidSteer forum). Got some new packings for both cylinders ready to go as well as new bronze thrust washers. All I need now is some more time, a (nearly) 10" pin, a hydraulic fluid flush, a bit of welding and it'l be back to 100% operational.

This machine is new to me so I'm correcting all the errors before I finally put it to work:

Pin backed out and seized in the cylinder end:

Finally got it loose, pounded it out:

Next two pics- the wear from being partially recessed into the cylinder end.

Hey figured I should post pics of my new drill press base cabinet I just built...

Designed it to mount on the base of the drill press and fit within the mobile base and attach to the T-tracks

IMG_1359 2.jpeg

The Tees are waxed hardwood and snugly slide on the tracks for easy removal if I have to lower the drill press table...

IMG_3107.jpeg

Two full extension drawers and a non slip top to temporarily store bits, chucks, keys, etc. while in use.

And a space below to store a sustainer...
