if you have wifi then turn on wifi calling on your phone and that should help with the dropped calls if you are allowing your phone to connect to the wifi and your phone is capable. don't know what phone you have.

I have never had an internet, phone company or TV provider ask for a copy of my DL. My auto insurance company and when I purchased the Taco Wagon - yes.

I've had AT&T as my phone company for over 36 years. I would be spooked, also, if they all of a sudden asked for a copy of my DL.

Those who ask should be able to provide a good answer - in writing - as to why they need this info.

Company's new policy of increased security & positive ID.......... I don't know.

I know I cringe every time I order something over the internet and give out all the required information.

Been with Verizon for several years. It takes a lot of patience since their policies & website are nearly incomprehensible. :confused2: Sending them (or anybody) a copy of your drivers license via email would be very foolish.

When any company demands a copy of my DL, I always black out the number. Mail order pot shops up here want a copy of your DL as proof you are over 19. Again i sent it to them, with the DL number blocked out.

Blacking out the number is a good idea but many people don't have the time, software, or necessary IT knowledge/skills.

Interesting the need for copy of DL for cell phone. But for certain insurance products we have to have the person's DL number and other info from it but not a copy. It is required not sure the law but due to money laundering and to prove their identity but not for all products just those with cash in them that can be used for money laundering.

Only money laundering done around my house is when the Wife forgets to check her pockets before tossing them into the washer! Guess they won't need my DL...

Be careful with the sharpie marker, some copiers can see thru the sharpie ink and the number will still be visible on the copy.
