Buying Advice Tractor vs zero turn

/ Tractor vs zero turn #61
It's all about the quality of ride to me. The rear tires on my mower are 3 feet tall which makes for a nice ride. Sometimes I wish they were a little taller when going over the ruff spots but I never wanted them shorter. I mow my yard at about 1 acre per hour with my JD 2720 & 60" MMM deck. At that speed I can drive a straight line, all the grass gets cut, my kidneys are happy, I'm not worn out and the yard looks nice.

15 minutes per acre is crazy talk.:laughing:

My Kubota zd 331 zero turn is a grass mowing beast. I'm like you though, and prefer slow and easy, I mowed about 8 acres in the last two days, 3hours each day. Any more than that and I'll need traction.

My Grasshopper goes waaaaay faster than I can stand to mow with it, as when I go too fast, I get motion sickness!

So, I mow faster than I can with a garden tractor, but no where near as fast as I "could" be going with the GH.

My neighbor, a great guy, mows (ZTR) as fast as possible. He has a head set on and stares at the many obstacles as he whizzes by sort like some kinda video game to me. As I mow (Kubota B2650--MMM) adjacent to him I look over his way but never get his attention. If he's happy, I OK with that........but I like to enjoy my easy ride. Just call me "Easy Rider".:)
Cheers,
Mike

My MF7495 with Pottinger Novacat mower is an even bigger mowing beast.
I mowed 45 acres in about 7 hours today :D

Grasshopper mowers are very impressive and made in the USA.

Yeah, but look at them windrows. A side discharge really spreads it out. :D
