I've had my DK5010 for a year now and have broke the side emergency flashing lights twice on the ROPS. I mow a wood lot on my acreage and there are lots of low hanging branches and they are just right at the wrong place. Has anyone else had this problem and how to remedy it?

Trim the branches or take the lights off........

Or don't fix the lights until you need them.:stirthepot::stirthepot:

Maybe you can mount them higher on the inside of the rops for protection and they should be more visible also.

I think all of the suggestions above are good. :)

You could build some metal guards to go around them that use the original bolt holes for the lights. The heavier the steel used, the better. Plate all the way around the outside of the lights with some expanded metal across the front and back. That should stop most lighter limbs. If you keep knocking heavier limbs, a pole saw is probably a better option.

If you mow it regularly you might want to just clear out those limbs.
x2. My lights are in a foot from the tires and if they are getting hit, likely I am too. Maybe yours are mounted differently than my 2016 DK5010. If so, here is a better mounting location... IMG_20200608_081347.jpg

Mine are up towards the top of the ROPS. I'm just not enthused at all at cutting, welding, and painting on my nice tractor.

I think you have answered your own question. Start cutting limbs. The lights on my M6040 are mounted on the top of the fenders - like PEJ5 shows. Mine have a heavy guard around them that provides protection.

For fire mitigation you should have trees trimmed to at least 10 feet to prevent crowning. I say start cutting limbs.
