I pull a ~10k bumper pull 32' TT...Pulled it with 6.2 & 5.3 gas 1500's and have a 2019 2500 diesel now. No comparison towing with a diesel in my opinion. The 6.2 gasser wasn't bad, but doesn't compare to the diesel. My opinion anyway.

Can you offer him a fuel consumption comparison?
Pulling 10k--Gas was around 6-7 mpg, diesel--11-12. This is pulling in the "mountains" of PA.

Operational costwise, I think the only way a gasser pays out is if buying new. Quite a cost difference.
In this case the dually is priced very low. It would bring that much even if it was a gasser. So he's getting the diesel free. Then factor in the mileage and it'll be a lot cheaper to run.
