I have one of each. A Lock n'Lube and a Azuno. The Azuno is MUCH larger that the LnL. There's no getting into tight spaces with the Azuno.

DEWFPO

Great info. Thank you.

Well my 2 cents is the fitting may be okay but it is obvious it will likely not fit in tight locations.

For me the best solution was to ditch the old style long lever grease guns that are common but I do not like them because they require 2 hands to operate the gun only. I switched to a manual pistol grip grease gun that takes only one hand to operate. A cordless electric would likely work too but I can not justify the extra expense or desire the additional hassle of dealing with dead batteries for a task easily accomplished by hand. Install a long rubber hose on my manual pistol grip using the standard factory fitting on the end of the hose and it will fit in the tighest areas imaginable. I can easily operate the gun with only one hand leaving my other hand free to keep as much or as little pressure on the fitting by pushing on the zerk as required with my other hand. Or I can even adjust the fitting with the free hand if needed but usually do not. My hand needs to be there on the fitting to put it on the zerk as well as to remove it from the zerk when done so why add waste into the step by ever moving my hand away. I can go from zerk to zerk quite fast this way especially on my old JD 594 hay rake that has 29 zerks on it requiring grease. Easy to accomplish this fast with my manual pistol grip gun but would suck royally with an older long lever pump gun.

My normal grease end is so hard to yank off that grease usually comes flying all over the place when it does come off the zerk.

Normal grease chucks are adjustable. Just unscrew the cap at the tip & they loosen up. Makes it a lot easier to pull off. Tighten the cap back up to tighten the grip on the zerks again.

Same thing here, in fact I broke off one of the zerks on my loader the other day trying to get it off, tiny little brass fitting. Fortunately I had an appropriate size easy out.
I guess I am not Mr. Observant, I never noticed that the tension on the jaws was adjustable, I will have to take a look next time.
I purchased a Lock & Lube, so far I really like it, works on the recessed fittings I have on my stuff.

Not sure what you're talking about. I've never entertained the idea of screwing the cap on and off for all of the zerks that need grease. That sounds a thousand times more difficult than simply getting a levered grease gun end. You have to think about how many fittings there are and how much time you add to a job when you have to partially disassemble the grease gun end to get it off a fitting. I come from an industrial environment where I might have a row of 250 mill rolls all in a line that need both ends greased to complete a pm on the equipment. A levered grease end is the bees knees.

I have 2 Lock & Lube ends & think they are great.

That doesn't change the fact most people don't realize the end of a grease gun fitting is adjustable. You generally don't need to as its tight enough to go & not leak but can also be pulled off. But before I knew better I almost broke a number of zerks trying to pull it off not knowing i could loosen it up.

Sometimes, even the adjustable end on the grease gun fitting doesn't loosen enough to come off easily. This is especially true in some blind hole spots like the recessed grease fitting on the center spindle of my Woods finish mower. If I loosened too much the end would fall off the grease gun end and I can't wiggle the grease gun end enough to get it off. It won't just pull off because the hose is too slippery to grip on to.

Solution was to buy an an "extended" Lock N Lube grease gun end. I can't find a picture of it but it works on deep blind fittings. For regular and easily accessible fittings I just use a regular grease gun fitting but with the ends that have four, rather than three grippers. Much faster than a Lock N Lube and I save that for the difficult fittings.

I don't think the intention was "adjustment ". I think it is so the ends can be removed and flipped around. My grease gun cap is too tightly installed to remove or adjust by hand, and carrying tools around for use with a grease gun is counter intuitive. It's not like the end is too tight. It slips on and off easily, until you pressurize the fitting with several thousands of psi of grease. I really don't think the intention is "adjustment ". The claws have to be installed, and they can be reversed so both sides can be used.
