Need a hitch plate for my PT1460 to move around trailers, etc.
Should I get a regular hitch and a pintle welded onto the PT plate?
If yes should the pintle be on top, bottom or side by side?

Anybody have any ideas on the best way to do this with 1 PT plate?
The 1460 plates from PT are 350.00 each

I'd weld a 2" receiver onto a plate and then you can slip anything you want into it. I have a 4" drop hitch with a ball to move trailers, a 3 ball hitch to move less common trailers, and a ring hitch to hang tongs from to pull logs. It's very versatile.

I built my own including a plate. With the 3 head ball it was maybe 40 all in.

As a ps be careful and think ahead when movin a trailer with an articulated tractor. You can easily jam yourself up. you are basically driving a snake.

I did one similar, added a vertical receiver, next to the horizontal one that sticks out forward. They act as gussets for each other and make a solid base.

I am not sure how much gusseting is really needed although I am sure it doesn't hurt. My gussets were scrap already cut from another project and I didn't want to cut them down in size.

Backing up a trailer with a PT is super easy. Going the other way is more difficult for me. But since I can unhook without even getting off the tractor, it has never been a problem.
