Summers here, 96* out with full sunshine and dont look like it'e going cool down for a few days, it sure was hot sawing lumber I couldn't get it all done, I'm so far behind that I'll be doing last years work next year.

Coarse sawing springboard oak makes sawing lumber even more work, I wonder what 40k sawmill do when beams wont stay down so's to re-trim. Got this 6x6-1/4 and it didnt want to stay down unless using the redneck clamping system, then after it was made 6x6 the beam still bent, be fun putting this bridge together.......

Pick up a few log cabin screws to try to bring them back in again. It works for boards and that 6x6 oak has to be a lot more flexible, right?

Wheres the skeet thrower going? Going for that rustic look by using sawmill slab siding or you ran out of boards, the result of to much cookie making, and its the first roof I seen where post sticking up through. Looks like there room for a soda and coffee machine, I like ginger ale and plane jane coffee and free wifi.

Skeet thrower will probably be on the ground. Nope used those bark less slabs on purpose, been saving them for this application. If you look at the pic, on the far side up high there are rim joists for the sniper tower platform. Temporary Deeluxe Harbor freight roofing system now installed, got family coming this week so I wont be able to finish it right now. Then I'll trim the posts above the roofline and put up the second floor!

Interesting to see how many ways there are to make shooting platforms, SC people seem to go all out on that, dont forget ginger ale, on the rocks with straw and lets not go there here.....

Proof that northern red oaks weigh more the so called upper midwest 4 wheel wagon oaks do, I weighed 3-2x6x8-ish. they added up 141-142 lbs so twice that and it should be around what a 6"x6"x16'-ish weighs, what I dont understand is 140 lbs weighs a lot more now then it did 40 years ago.

Not only is gravity stronger (as shown every time that I step on the scales) but the ground is much harder when I fall down, than it was 40 years ago.

That bundle of slabs is pretty close to 1/2 cord of green oak... I would be struggling with that load also.
