Grease Gun Recommendations

Yesterday I ordered a manual pistol grip, an alemite 555e. It's got a dual mode, pressure or volume, sounds like a pretty nice feature. I really like my pneumatic lincoln 1162, but my massey has been working out back for a while now, no electricity back there hence no compressor.

Well I like mine because the price was right.

Friend had a 12 volt Lincoln that he 'garage sale' found and bought a new battery for it ($60.)
Well he must have needed money as he said $25.00 and it's yours.

Guess he never even used it as the grease in it was so caked up and dry that I had to pry it out.

Now all cleaned up with new tube of grease it is a charm to lube my CUT.

even if it is the most expensive you have to buy the best one because later the damage can be worse

With as often as tractors and equipment need grease why would anyone nowadays still buy a hand pump grease gun?
When I do my greasing I run through 5-8 tubes of grease. My hand would be killing pumping it that many times each grease run.

I bought a quality battery-operated in 2005 and it's still running strong as of yesterday and still on the original battery. I remember I paid a pretty penny for it in 2005, but now looking back it was a great investment.

Slightly off topic but I would suggest getting a box of cheap disposable vinyl or latex gloves. I keep about a dozen in the plastic case with my Milwaukee grease gun and just turn them inside out when I remove them. Between removing dirty grease from the fittings and the extra grease from lubing it just makes life nicer. If I was going to buy a grease gun I wouldn't get one unless it came with a plastic case. Unlike cordless drills that almost never get back in the case the plastic case for a grease gun keeps the tip from getting grease on everything it touches.

I just bought a large plastic tub from wallyworld with a lid, and keep all my greasing tools and tube together on a shelf

Well if you got that much equipment to hit, yeh a manual gun would be stupid. Me, I've used my alemite pistol grip gun for the second time the other day, it was perfectly fine. Actually I stumbled on zirk that was not taking grease, I would not have even known about it if I was using my lincoln pneumatic gun.

This is first time I could say that TBN steered me wrong into initially getting a powered grease gun, hindsight I would have skipped it and went right to the alemite, it's great.

Here's the one I got, came with a lockNlube and the hose swivels as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Q2H4RW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
