Kioti ck2610 vs Kubota 2501

Market share figures are not available to the general public. What I said is not hearsay. That's what there is too much of on this site, hearsay. That's why I removed myself for @ 4 yrs. and just got back on.
W/o revealing myself too much, you can believe @ 98% of what I say. If it is incorrect, I won't even bring it up.
And finn1, as I said market share #'s are based on hp. categories, not total of tractors sold.
If you're looking under 50hp, yes Kub. will most likely be the leader. if you look at 70 to 100 hp, then Deere will most likely be the leader. But Deere is not the leader in under 50.
See how that works?

Having worked in the industry for a manufacturer of trucks, engines, ag, and construction equipment , I fully understand and market segmentation and share.

My point is that there痴 no published data available to the consumer, and the sales blurbs published in press releases ate twisted to make that particular manufacturer look good.

I think there is a point where market share is small enough to cause concern. There is a point where long-term parts availability is a concern. My guess is those concerns should be minimal with Kioti, but I confess they were part of why i chose to go JD. Maybe I just got less tractor for my money, who knows. Ah well. At least my kids like green!

2610s are in demand and in short supply, heard again this weekend from a dealer they can't find any. Tractors are still selling at twice the norm.

Folks in the industry are well aware of the market numbers, it's not a secret to anyone. I don't know why some here are so skeptical/ignorant about it, or give Jeff a hard time -- he's just reciting industry word of mouth.

Here are the numbers from 2017 -- Kubota 47%, Deere 19%, in the "under 80 HP" North American market:

Industry Shift: Kubota痴 Pursuit to be a Global Full Liner | Rural Lifestyle Dealer

When Kubota put out a press release about crossing 51% in the US some years ago (which gave them the mathematical ability to claim #1) I recall it was for compact tractors only but don't know the HP range. You can google if you want to read it. All their press releases are online.
IMHO no one gave Jeff a hard time they simply asked for the facts/stats to be posted.I guess we live in a time were EVERYONE is offended.

Well said. :)

btw, I'd like to know who sells the most beer so I can start drinking the best stuff instead of what I really like. :confused3:

Also, who sells the most ranch dressing? I've been perfectly ok with Kroger brand but don't want to miss out there too.

There's also cel-phones and pickup trucks. Which member will step up and set us straight on those now that the OP has bought a tractor?

For those who posted above this post (who did cite his source) - Well, 50 and 30 and 1-1/2 (kubota/Deere/kioti) is a far cry from 47/19/12. I guess maybe everybody DOESNT know the stats.

I can play that game too - that was for under 80 hp? What about under 50 where the vast majority of TBN people live?

87% of widely known stats are made up on the spot. Dont believe me? It is widely known, go do the research. Then post more heresay with nothing to back it up except an unwillingness to do so. At least give it some qualifiers lest you risk being shown to be incorrect.

Amongst all those who that use stats, percentages, or just plain brand loyalty, what is good for one might not be good for someone else.

Both of my LS tractors have been flawless in operation for almost 400 hours of combined operations. My current one is similar in specs and size of the Kubota L2501. The biggest difference was the $8000 less that I paid for the LS. To me THAT is a deciding factor. Am I saying that Kubota is Bad? Heck no...they are some very well built machines.... but so are a lot of other tractors.

Market share doesn't mean better... there may be a much larger marketing budget. There are 4 billboards for Kubota within a 12 mile stretch of interstate out here... do you think that sticks in a new tractor buyers mind? Or, maybe it is the kubota mailers I get 4 times a year....

To me, it didn't make my mind up. I went for specs, then price, with the deciding factor being price.

Turning into a brand war, with "statistics".

Initial question was CK2610 vs L2501. Just went through the same pain. Not an easy choice.

L2501 Engine refinement(guessing) and torque, 3pt valve (CK2610 is a jerky mess, L2501?),aftermarket parts availability
CK2610 Better hydraulics, and lift, console mounted loader joystick, and for me price and financial conditions

At equal price, I would probably own a Kubota. But for me there was a decent difference (2500+ Canadian Pesos), and the L2501 was still less equipped. The Kubota financing here was also interesting, requiring 10-15% down for 0% financing. Kioti was zero down.

*** Went through my quotes (with snowblower and rotary cutter), difference is 2250.... and the Kubota includes insurance (not sure about the insurance...it sounds good... but is it?)

Cheers
