Kioti ck2610 vs Kubota 2501

Kubota has 50% of the compact tractor market in the USA. Kioti has 1-1/2% (guess) of the compact tractor market in the USA.

When selling used the difference in brand penetration/recognition will make a huge difference. Note the OP says where he lives both tractors are priced the same.

Almost everyone who knows Kioti also contributes to T-B-N.:)
I realize Kubota "might" have 50 percent of the market but that has NOTHING to do with kioti verses Kubota on resale.I own both products.

Can you share your data on kubota holding 50% market share.

I'd like to see that myself.

With two or three hours of web research you can confirm the Kubota and Deere market shares from published industry data. My Kioti market share is an educated guess. I stand by the numbers.

I serve thread OPs with my information/experience, researched initially for my personal edification as a retired sales and marketing exec. If you want confirmation repeat the research yourselves. If you find industry data that updates or challenges my numbers, post it.

If you already did the research can't you post where you found their published market shares so we don't need to spend 2 or 3 hours looking.

I have done the search several times and was never able to find any credible, documented data showing North American or US only market share among manufacturers in the compact tractor segment. Lots of anecdotal numbers and twisted half truths, but zero breakdowns of market share.

For what it痴 worth, Kioti issued press releases roughly eight years ago said they were closing in on 10% share in the markets they participated in at that time.

Since Jeff keeps guesstimating numbers on several threads without any info to back that up, here is an actual table showing the sales and market shares of compact tractors in Portugal. Comparing 2018 to 2019.

I know this doesn't matter much for you in the US but you can get an idea of market shares on other countries. Keep it mind this is a tiny country, so the sales numbers will be smaller as well versus the US. I mean, Portugal is 107 times smaller than the US. :D

This table includes SCUTs as well. The brands you see with the start (*) in front of the name are UTVs which, for some reason, are considered farm equipment over here.

1st row: Brands / 2nd row: Units / 3rd row: Variation 2019 vs 2018 / 4th row: Market share

To me, is pretty dang good seeing the Korean brands taking over like they are. Specially when the naysayers have been saying for years that these brands wouldn't last much or aren't good enough to compete with the big brands. It's a tough market when you have to compete with the European brands like Deutz, Landini, Same, Hurlimman, Lamborghini and a few others.

Kioti grew so much and have been doing so good in the past couple years that in April they bumped the warranty from 2 years to 5 years. I won't be surprised if they take the lead during this year. I keep seeing posts from dealers delivering lots of tractors every week.

Keep in mind resale value is based on brand perceptions granted kubota and Deere are perceived as robust and command high resale value. But you will find Kioti and few other Korean tractor manufacturers are catching up quickly. Tractor Mike on YouTube just stated recent video that in US there are between 60 to 70k of yearly compact tractor sales. This has been happening now for half of a decade. Since people are runny hobby and small farms. This allows growth for the Korean tractor business. If its sustained you will see Korean tractors built complete in US soil factory just like we we have experienced Kia and Hyundai auto manufacturing. Same could be said of Kubota. Time will tell. Right now business is good for all compact tractor manufacturers. Most buyers are buying on cost over brand names. To them it痴 a tractor that used less than 100 hours per year. LS sponsorship to NASCAR is tapping into the market segment - you see lot race fans have some farming roots and buy tractors.

Resale is a funny thing and right now you might be able to find someone willing to cough up more on a percentage basis as we still have a lot of ill advised people making statements that this is better than that BUT mind you that is changing quicker than you think.

I recently watched a local lot sell a bunch of tractors and was very happy to see the Kioti tractors sell before the kubota tractors and they were all sold at the same price.

What I see most is when you figure the price on a percentage bases that most brands hold thier value and sell used at nearly Identical rates. Yes there are some who let those blowing hot air influence thier decision and be swayed to pay more for the kubota and Deere units but the numbers are dropping on that.

Recently When I watched 3 evenly matched tractors sell from the same lot. The kubota was priced slightly higher, after selling the two Kioti tractors the kubota sat for 3 months without a buyer. She (my friend/ owner of the place) had to talk the owner (it was a consignment sale) into dropping the price down to what the Kiotiç—´ were sold for to finally get it to move.

You must also take into consideration things like the last vehicle I purchased being advertised with a price and then being listed as sold on that ad. It didn稚 reflect the sold price at what it actually sold for which was actually thousands less than it was advertised for. This further complicates any research.

You buy a tractor to use it, not to jump on a brand bandwagon, break it and blame the dealer, or to resell it.

CK2610 is NOT a mere 25hp tractor. It outclasses my 33 & 35hp HN CUTs in every category but color. :p

Too many <25hp tractors are SCUTs with tiny tires, little o'all weight, and 2-range HSTs.

As for value of a used machine, try to find a CK2610 that anybody is willing to part with.

I never could, & is why I bought the '04 TC33DA. (cheapskate) It's nearly as good.

The CK2610 has been on my radar since last year. Up until about a month ago I was seeing MUCH lower prices on CK2610's compared to L2501. I'm finally within a month of so of purchasing and in getting quotes a few weeks ago was told by a couple of Kioti dealers that CK2610's were in short supply, that Kioti had cut the rebate substantially and was actually priced within a few hundred $'s of a L2501. Even though Kioti out specs the L2501 by a good bit, with price being nearly equal on what should be a long term purchase I'd pick a L2501 just based on Kubotas track record of reliability.
