Well I do have the best lake in ME just a few miles up the road, spring fed Lake St George but I still prefer the shower power.

Oh no, rainbow lake is the best lake in Maine ! But who wants a lake you have to drive to anyway?

I was working about 70 miles away, just outside Milo. It rumbled for a couple of hours starting around noontime, but I was able to get my day in, had loaded and was just tying the ATV down when the rain started. It came down so hard that I had to decide if I wanted to get in the truck; or grab a bar of soap and get cleaned up for the ride home.

I did see the storms coming on the weather forecast, but as usual they start to fizzle out when they get east of the capital and since I'm close to the coast I hardly ever get the down pours, once in a while I get them but seems like SW, W, N, NW of me always gets the worst, down pours, down drafts and downed trees.

I had a rainbow tonight... one end was on my old 8N which hasn't moved in years. The other end seemed to be right on my house, although it's hard to tell because there's too darned many trees in the way.

Now I've got the coffee on, when Ed McMann shows up I want to show what Maine hospitality is like.

Gee wizz that lake is way up north, take me 5 hr to get there, have to make that an overnighter in my RV, oh darn I dont have a RV but I bet that water dont stick to ya when getting out like pool water does.

Just priced a tri-axle load of 57 gravel, $850. I can get a little cheaper if I get the softer rock. Nothing is less than $35/ton and it will not hold up under traffic.

I was JUST complaining to the guy that delivers 57's to me that I thought $20 per ton delivered was high,,
( $350 per load )

I do have to pay $30 per ton for Class 1 rip rap.. that stuff is HARD on a truck,,
some pieces are 8 inches thick, and as much as 24 inches by 24 inches square,,

Only one guy hauls rip rap,, but, I guess he pays for the truck bed somehow,,,

BUT, that Class 1 rip rap sure looks nice when placed like a jigsaw puzzle,,, :thumbsup:
