How many of your four acres do you foresee mowing regularly with a zero turn mower?
Zero turn mowers have small wheels. Land has to be very smooth to mow rapidly with a zero turn mower.
Do you want to maintain both gas and diesel fuel supplies?

Save yourself a lot of time, money and grief by going to homedepot and renting a SCUT with backhoe for the weekend and go dig your pond.
Before you respond how renting is expensive and a waste of money, just do it. You will thank me later for saving you a whole lot of money buying a SCUT with backhoe attachment and realizing it doesnt do what your dreams think it will do for you. Now go buy a nice old used $3,500 Ford 8N or MF 35 and a 6 foot 3PH finishing mower. Use it for a couple years. THEN go pricing and demoing SCUTs. Sell the 8N for $3500 privately or trade it in.

I don’t think its stupid to rent. For whatever reason (maybe because my dad had an extendahoe) i feel like i should own one!! Lol

Digging a pond? Just hire real iron for that. The tiny tractor is going to take you forever to work with.

It can take me 2 years to do. Dont care. But if I estimate a pond they will want 50k here. I have rk/tym/bobcat/ls. So far those are the ones i have searched for. A guy wanted $3200 for tilling around 2 acres. Not sure if that is good price or not but nothing else was going to be done and weeds grow fast, throwing away that money in 2 weeks.

For half that, I can rent a truck and trailer, drive up there, do it, drive back and still be money ahead including having spent money for fuel for both the truck and tractor. And you'd see a 125 in person.

How big a pond are you digging? Is it going to be spring fed? if it is spring fed, will you be digging in a spring fed muck hole getting stuck. What will you do with the spoils? Are they going to be used to create a bank around the pond, will they need to be trucked off site?
This is a good opportunity do some investigating. Dig some test holes a little deeper than the depth of your desired pond and monitor the water level as the time progresses this summer in preparation for next year. If you want to dig a 6'deep pond, dig an 8' deep test hole. If the water remains two feet below the surface, talk to a contractor with a real excavator who can reach out into the pond area and scoop out dirt but not actually get into the pond area.

Just a thought, but check with those to see if you can 'demo' or rent one for a weekend. That would give you a feel for what they can do.

Seeing how there are about 36 different soil types in your county with 2-3 variations of each, meaning about 100 conditions, profile info does zippo for other people to know how a backhoe is gonna work on your property. But, it is nice to know where a person hails from if they're so inclined to share it. Not required, though.
