WoW ! Now I've seen some nice looking ($$$$.) front bumpers. All of these are nice and they do provide the support on the wings which you would need if something bumps it. Although expensive, they all look nice. Compared to the price of the truck, these cost less than a months fuel. That said, look at the cost of damage if you are using regular bumpers. Back in the early 70's all vehicles were designed to use some type of crush resistant bumper. Some had shocks while others had metal cans (e.g., beer cans on end) to absorb the frontal crash. Now the manufacturer's have eliminated this function so the damage to a vehicle can be substantial. It would be nice if we could add a "crush bumper" onto the front of the OEM bumper which would minimize any damage.
I was wrong about the wood bumper. Peter 315 has a nice one which blends in very well. For my tastes, I would want it projecting forward another six to 12 inches so it has time to absorb the collision and protect the truck more. Oh well, if I could design things I would've been an engineer like my son. He worked for GM before they changed into the smaller company they are now.
