Harbor Freight Jack Stands Recalled.

item numbers 56371, (3 ton) and 61196, 61197 (6 ton).

a total of 454,000 jack stands made between 2013 and 2019.

Mine never sucked but HF thinks they do.......:D Like I stated in another comment, the set I got from Autozone are exactly the same. I wonder if Autozone's are suspect?

The differences between the recalled ones and the OK ones are subtle. My 6 ton stands purchased earlier this year were not subject to the recall. As I understand it, the ones that were recalled are not a different design, it's just that the tooling on which they were made was worn, causing the pawl not to engage properly with the teeth.

One HF stuff that sucks, their rubber tarp straps suck big time. One, they stink, Two, the don't last (fall apart) and Three, the hooks pull through the rubber part easily.

Total junk.

Theyæ±*e worse than that they are dangerous. When you are trying to hook the other end and it snaps that rubber club is coming straight at your face. If the hook twists loose itç—´ even worse  The Chinese white bungee cords work better last longer. No more of those black plastic things for me

I based my comment on them after receiving a 'purple Herbie' from one. Nothing scarier than getting sucker punched by a black tarp strap.

I've got a 25' DiaBlows black air hose that's showing cracks in less than a year.

I also have a 15' light duty air hose that came with the Campbell Hausfeld compressor I got from Monkey Wards in the early 80s that doesn't have a single crack.

Got a grip on the Die-n-blows for sure. Chineseum rubba just don't cut the cheese.

Again, not so much an item, but a policy. Why haven't they picked up on the order on the web and pick up in store craze? Even before this whole recent mess, most other similar store including NT were doing it. Even some of my grocery stores and places like Big Lots are doing it now. Sure there are times when I prefer to go in and browse, but there are times when I only need a few things, know exactly which items and don't have the time to wander around and wait in line. Plus it's often easier to apply coupons and discounts on the web and watch for errors in pricing so you can correct them. I hate having to wait for a manager because something rang up wrong or a coupon didn't scan right.

Kind of hard to do "order on line" when the website doesn't know what items are in stock at the local store. I was looking for some cheap clamps last week. The ones I wanted, on sale, weren't in stock but they did have a couple of 'open box' specials that were longer than I needed that most likely wouldn't even have shown up on a website.

The national Harbor Freight web site doesn't even list valid phone numbers for some of its stores. I was trying to call a New Hampshire store about an online order I'd placed, and it was clear from the get-go that the area code of the number wasn't a new hamphire area code (the number didn't work at all). I called another number for a Massachusetts store and that worked.
