Kioti hands down. Why buy a rebranded machine? Parts will be tougher to funnel through Kioti to Bobcat, etc. Bobcat has tried before and failed. There is no reason to believe they will be successful this time.

There is no reason to get a 10 ft baler if you have 5 acres of land. That is a huge waste of $$ unless you are bailing other properties.

I would be looking to cut and bale other properties too

zeroforhire
you have 5 acres. what do you need the hay for? why invest in hay equip for only 5 acres? (unless looking for reason to get machinery, been there myself)
for only a few acres of hay, i'd purchase locally & write off taxes as you would if you purchase equip. paying off the equip note will take a while to justify cutting on your own... good luck on decisions

I have a small sheep flock... I would be putting up one of the cuttings. I would want to get the equipment to bale mine and start a little side business.

nothing wrong with that. i don't make a living off my equip & probably have more invested in equip than what you will end up spending on your venture
good luck deciding what equip will do the best job. just thought i'd ask given your orig post. you'll get good info to your question on this forum

LIke Haydude and big bubba said, it will be tough to come out ahead on the money end.

Also, you had better be a good handy man, fix just about anything kind of guy.

The price of the equipment has gone through the roof, but the price of hay is still just about the same...most guys start out with used equipment and try to keep it patched up as long as they can.

Dont know, but apostrophes seem to cause it

If you go up to the top of the page to My Home/My Settings/General Settings & then go to the bottom to miscellaneous options you will see three different message editor interfaces. I don't think any of them are optimized for a phone, but you might try a different one if you are seeing odd characters instead of apostrophes. It won't always work, but it did for me.

Dude, when someone recommends used tractors I always wonder if they are a natural builder & mechanical type of guy.
I know I am, and most of my rural friends are.
Like most mechanical guys, fixing things seems so simple and so valuable that I am mystified that it has lost popularity.

Thanks for the tip, rScotty, I will try it.
Re fixing used equipment: I try to fix what I can, but sometimes what happens with hay is you get so pressed for time you need a helper, extra hands or special tools I don稚 have. I知 in hay for profit and sometimes I gotta get going in a HURRY:eek:
